Has anyone got the Vertx DA-62 in P3Dv4?

Whilst the Vertx DA-62 operates and flies fine in v5 the Configuration Tool doesn’t appear to be saving changes made specifically to the startup mode.

There is C&D, Ready to Fly and Remember (the state when exited in the sim).

I set the mode to C&D but it loaded with all systems running.

I can’t believe the author got this wrong so it seems it’s something that’s broken in v5.

If you have it running in v4 can you check if the correct state is set when chosen in the Configuration Tool?

If you have Windows 11 open it and choose Home. A list of the most recently changed files will be listed. If there’s one associated with the Vertx what’s its name?

Thanks.

In V4 it doesn't save. You're right. Did C&D and came back with everything alive.

In the brief test I noticed that while in P3D if I shut down the engines/alternator. It would come back to C&D.

Hi Ray. I have the Vertx DA-62 in v5.4. While it does not seem to start in C&D mode initially, setting it to C&D in the configuration window does work for me.

With the aircraft loaded in the sim, I set it to C&D in the configuration window. Then clicked the SAVE button. Then reloaded the aircraft (I have the command bound to CTRL-R). It's now in C&D mode in the simulator, and it stays that way the next time I load the aircraft or enter the simulator.

Anyway, this is what i experience. Hopefully this helps. I'm on Windows 10.

I have it in P3D v4.5 where it was set to "Ready for Flight".

I reset it to "Cold and Dark" and reloaded where it did not load as C&D.

I then manually set up the aircraft to a cold and dark state, saved the senario and reloaded.

It stayed in the C&D state then.

Yeah so Sean must have missed something.

I heard there was an update almost ready to be released prior to Sean's personal loss, maybe that would have included said fix ?

Anyway it is what it is.

Cheers

My 4 cents worth (Inflation)

Played around with this for awhile. Using the Vertx DA-62 in P3DV5.4 and Windows 10. Setup the option in the config for "Ready For Flight" and the first time I selected the Vertx DA-62 it would come up "Cold and Dark."  I would either close P3D or select another plane, load it and the other plane would load. Would re-select the DA-62 and then it would load "Ready For Flight." The DA-62 would continue load "Ready For Flight" in subsequent (my big word for the day) attempts.  This tells me the loading the first DA-62 flight after changing the "Cockpit State on Load" setting will not update to the new setting until a second loading attempt.  I also tried the "Cold and Dark" setting and the same thing happen. Loading the first flight with the DA-62 would load "Ready for Flight" and then the subsequent (used the big word twice) attempts would load "Cold and Dark".

Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder.

Thank you all for your input. I agree with @DonMuskopf and @johncott in that changing the startup mode in the Config Tool doesn't result in that state being loaded on first attempt.

But going into the Vehicle Menu and reselecting the same registration makes no difference. The same mode remains.

But if you select another DA-62 registration that does force the mode to change.

It's all very strange when Windows 11 detects no changes to any file. So Sean is doing something very clever behind the scenes in saving your preference. Quite how is beyond me.

It's also unusual for a configuration tool to work when P3D is running. It usually requires exclusive access. That perhaps explains why a re-selection of the aircraft is required.

I'm choosing Remember so whatever state the aircraft was in when P3D closed (or CTD'd) will be the mode on nect load.
