A340 arriving at ZJSY

Featured Replies

So here I am in the seemingly much maligned LVFR A340 (poor, poor, gullible me - sing along now!) arriving at SamScene's ZJSY. I like the A340, though even I will admit the fuselage textures leave something to be desired, and am happy to have it. ZJSY is also not one of SamScene's finest moments,  and a lot of the ground imagery around here is pretty bad, but that may well be MSFS itself.

Anyway, overall an enjoyable experience. This A340 will be getting out and about a bit on my system in the next few days. So here's a few shots for y'all - enjoy or sneer according to your tastes, I don't mind either way.

A cockpit shot to start with, but I went and changed the weather setting immediately after this as it felt a bit bland out there

That's better!

Saw a comment in another thread implying a problem with the ground steering but can't say I noticed any issues

And here we are at a totally inappropriate gate

This is probably more suitable (and the weather is back to clear because these are from my first run through of the flight replay)

And just a couple of shots around the airport

Very nice shots Andy! 🙂

Andy, just ignore the malignment part....and the gullible part too...🙂...We (me included) love the 340 for more than just its fidelity in the SIM...And, until another (better one) appears in our lifetime, this will have to do...

If you ask me which a/c took me across the Oceans maximum times (very comfortably too, a great long-haul plane of its time), it will have to be the 340 (with LH). I recall LH was flying the -300 and the unimaginably thin and long -600 variants...the latter I most recall...

Thanks for sharing the pictures of the 340...!

Don't worry P_7878, I don't take any of that stuff seriously. Speaking as a decidedly non-serious simmer I'm very happy with all the LVFR Airbusses. Yes, if a better quality A318 or A340 ever comes along I may well replace them, but these work for me now. Time spent actually in the cockpit continues to be time wasted, in my world. I like aircraft of all sorts, but primarily I like to look at them, not out from them. I can just about tolerate spending time in the cockpit for take off and landing when I'm recording a flight, but other than that, forget it. I have a low tolerance for staring at dials and gauges and such things.

Having a play with the F-4 and formation settings at the moment, but I'll be back out in the A340 very soon!
