Blurry Text

The blurry text is due to FXAA.
In your Xplane config you will see this.
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 0 hdr/use_post_aa 0    hdr/msaa_hw 0
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 1 hdr/use_post_aa 1    hdr/msaa_hw 0
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 2 hdr/use_post_aa 1    hdr/msaa_hw 1
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 3 hdr/use_post_aa 1    hdr/msaa_hw 2
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 4 hdr/use_post_aa 1    hdr/msaa_hw 3

Everywhere you see hdr/use_post_aa and it has a 1 is FXAA that is enabled.
So looking at the above config even when set to MSAA FXAA is also enabled. Change the config to look like this.
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 0 hdr/use_post_aa 0    hdr/msaa_hw 0
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 1 hdr/use_post_aa 0    hdr/msaa_hw 0
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 2 hdr/use_post_aa 0    hdr/msaa_hw 1
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 3 hdr/use_post_aa 0    hdr/msaa_hw 2
SETTING_1 renopt_HDR_antial 4 hdr/use_post_aa 0    hdr/msaa_hw 3

This should fix your blurry displays.

It's works ! Thank you.

Even on the paid aircraft they are blurry. Tollis and the flight factor as well.

It's the way X-Plane 12 renders graphics. If you prefer crisp graphics you can simply go back to X-Plane 11. But you won't get the new light and weather effects.

It's a shame they couldn't achieve that without distorting the graphics, but that's what we got.

MSFS has a similar problem, everything gets washed out and blurry. My impression is that the more developers try to emulate real light the worse the clarity gets.

What do you fly? Can you make a comparison screenshots of that plane in X-Plane 11 and X-Plane 12? Or how do you test that your settings make a difference?

Ok did not know that. If I use TAA msfs it is very sharp but I dont use DLSS it just too crazy bad for me.

I don't have XP11 loaded but I have the Flightfactor, Tollis, etc and they are all the same. There does not seem to be any different with sharpening to me.

You can do quite a bit to improve sharpness but it happens on the final image in the frame buffer, so there are limits.

You can also sharpen the textures before they get into the sim. Here as an example my current work on the Rotate MD-80 (not everything has been touched yet but it shows improvement). If you want more tips how I improve sharpness send me a PM, some of the things I do are quite radical and I don't want to get into flame wars with the "it's your computer" faction

Because they dont like us,,, really. AA is a big performance hit so it will be improved as they get things more efficient. If you have blurrles file a bug report.

Why is this blurry? Any ideas? I can be the only one. It just seems to me XP tries to get force people not to use it.

Specs and settings?

What happened with vulken it was great.  Frames through the roof and smooth.

Nothing, when you change things, things break, you can only do so much testing with Alpha testers ,than you have to deal with the rest. Than the madness begins.  Did you really think it was  easy to rewrite a flight sim engine.?? People assume too much,,, oh laminar just push a button and all of a sudden we have multicore multi thread working bug free. Be nice if it was so, but its not.

I assume you import all the textures in the "Objects" folder into Photoshop, apply the sharpen effect on the textures, and save.
