Original (Boxed) CLS/Just Flight DC10 vs. Steam Edition?

Just wondered if there is any difference between the two versions? I have the old boxed edition bought years ago for the original (disc) FSX but now run the Steam edition of FSX. Did the Steam edition get any significant updates to justify paying the @£21 asking price or should I just try and get the original working?

If I am not mistaken SE and the disc version of FSX are the exact same + acceleration. I have several boxed planes working on SE, it did require some tinkering though.

The overwhelming majority of FSX downloaded or boxed add-ons will work just fine in FSX: Steam Edition.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

The only difference is that you'll get less liveries, just KLM and Air France 🤦‍♂️

Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX3060 Ti 8GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120 Hz (G-sync compatible, but disabled), Windows 11 (at last!). Running P3D v5.4 (with v4.5 scenery objects as an additional library, just in case), FSX-SE, XP11, MSFS2020 and even FS9. Installing and setting up MSFS2024.

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there for airliner ops. FSX-SE also installed, just in case. Lossless Scaling in al my rigs. What a godsend...

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/travel.
