June 22, 20241 yr Here lately I've been getting this message that says my bandwidth is too low and I am being switched to offline. I have been using this sim since it came out with no bandwidth problems and I know this is not the case. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? Is there any way I can switch back to Online mode? I fly low and slow just to enjoy the scenery and discover new places. This takes away this enjoyment from me since the offline is about the same as FSX. It also won't let me use photogrammetry. There is a solution that many have tried and its called the map enhancement mod. You can choose different servers to use for maps i.e. Google and yes, this is free. There are "pro" maps that require a fee, but again, there are free options as well. Give it a try.... https://flightsim.to/file/19345/msfs-2020-google-map-replacement Edited June 22, 20241 yr by Tony P

I had recently deleted Map Enhancement because I thought it was causing some problems I had. I just reinstalled it now and everything is working fine. I set it for Bing - latest. June 22, 20241 yr Asobo’d! Wish they would find a solution for this. Maybe actually make pre-downloading areas viable.
June 27, 20241 yr Switching the Map Enhancement Tool back on seems to be working for me now (using Google Maps). Just remember to turn off Rolling Cache. Thanks Antholy P for the suggestion.
June 27, 20241 yr This issue happens when a file modified by the Map Enhancement tool was left in a state, when one uninstalls the Map Enhancement tool, that prevents the default Bing map from being accessed after the mod was uninstalled. I believe the file is called host.ini. So what cured the issue for the OP was reinstalling the Map Enhancement Mod, NOT running the Bing Latest or Google Map in the Map Enhancement tool. This is NOT Asobo's issue it's 100% an issue with the Map Enhancement tool. But you had previously UNINSTALLED the ME which can set you up for leaving the host.ini file in a state where it can no longer see the default maps. When you reinstalled ME this was resolved. Put another way if one never installed the ME one would not be getting the persistent, connection lost, we're taking you offline. I had difficulties installing it because of Kaspersky virus protection wouldn't let it access the Host file. I guess it left the remnants in the Host file. Hitting the Stop removes the Map Enhancement ip addresses from the Host file, so they were still probably there. Thanks for pointing this out. Makes sense now. June 27, 20241 yr I suspected that might have been the issue (a piece of debris left over after uninstalling the mod). So, do you know where this renegade file is located so I can be sure to remove it, should I uninstall the mod again? Thanks so much. This forum is so much more helpful than the MSFS Support forum. The Host file is located at C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc It is just Host without an extension. Open with Notepad. Everything in it should be Commented out with zero bites in it. When Map Enhancement opens it places ip addresses for the different data bases you selected (Bing-latest), then the program goes to that address instead of the Asobo one. When you complete running flight simulator, press the STOP button in Map Enhancer. This will tell it to remove the IP addresses back to the original state. If not stopped next time flight simulator tries to open it will try to go to a site that it can't use, so you get the low bandwidth message. This is my take after going though a lot of problems with this addon. Roy i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive

That is my guess too Roy and when it first occurred to me that maybe this is what happened I surmised maybe I forgot to hit STOP before uninstalling the app. Cheers Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync.
