FO will only asksfor confirmation when moving to a handle position that is more than 2 notches down. 20 to 30 (skipping 25) is fine. There are no SOPs in mind here. Main purpose, is to prevent Fo setting flaps from say 1 or 5 to 25 say after speech engine mistook spoken "set flaps to five" for "set flaps twenty five". The bug was in the fact FO wasn't seeing the current detent. It was as if he was asked to move lever from zero every time, hence the totally inappropriate prompts to confirm Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
