TAI Models Cairo HECA - Thoughts?

Featured Replies

Ok so reinstalled the 777 and updated the navdata and all is well, my runways are back. I'd say it's decent enough, albeit a bit expensive for this quality level perhaps. One thing that annoys me about all airports in the Gulf and the sandier parts of the Middle East is the lack of desert shrubs and fauna around the airport environment that exists in real life. Usually sand in the sim is just flat and brown and looks like FS9, unlike the amazing visuals you see in greener places. The addition of some fauna would lift the quality of airports like Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Cairo....

Just to add my impression after flying EHCA-HEGN over the weekend. It's definitely nicer than I thought. I have Tai Models' Cairns, which I thought was so-so. It seems they improved the skills since then. I agree with others that it's a little on the pricy side for what it is, but it performed well, looked quite nice and seems fairly accurate. Overall I like the scenery and will return here for more flying. The one problem I had was that literally none of the airport layout, including all gates, showed up on the world map... Though I saw an update today that's suppose to fix that, so I'll have a look sometime later this week to see if indeed they did

Yes I think there’s a glitch. If I zoom out then in again then the gates appear.

I contacted the developer about the bumpy runways and he wrote back that it will be fixed in the next update…

Does the Asobo bespoke HECA need to be uninstalled to use this product?

Yes, or in case you do not want it uninstalled heat over to your : Your path to MSFS\Official\OneStore\asobo-airport-heca-cairo\ and there rename the layout.json to layout.orgjson and save it and now you can use your new HECA without to deinstall Asobos.

I did that with KJFK, EGLL, EHAM and it works beautiful no problems here.

cheers 😉
