TAI Models Cairo HECA - Thoughts?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I saw TAI Models released Cairo HECA for MSFS on Simmarket: https://secure.simmarket.com/taimodels-cairo-international-airport-heca_msfs.phtml

I'm tempted as I really want an upgrade from the Asobo version, but my impression of TAI Models sceneries has not been the best and I didn't read the best of reviews for their Manchester scenery. So, before I get this I was wondering what other people's thoughts are? Would love to hear some opinions and reviews.

Be careful on those floors, they look awful slippery...

Little pricey but looks very good to me. Most people would be concerned with performance.

Looks pretty fine from the pics side , would be interessting how fluid and performance it is ..

cheers 😉

Im using the asobo one with the enhancement mod.

its ok, but I would like a better one, if the performance is not terrible and if there’s a gsx profile for it.

I am getting 30 FPS locked with PMDG 777, on mostly ultra settings, FSLTL Traffic at 90.

Glad performance is fine for you! And what are your thoughts in terms of the visuals? They look decent on the screenshots but how does it look in-sim? I don’t need it to be at the level of FlightBeam but perhaps about as good as iniBuilds?

It’s also available from Orbx (same price). Judging by the screenshots, it looks quite good. Could be worth getting.

I got it, no issues with performance at all. Decently modelled too - I'd say it's inibuilds level with interiors etc - not quite premier league but gets the job done. Only show stopper for me is there are no departures or approaches available in the FMC of the PMDG 777 - not even a runway! I know that there are only vectored departures and approaches to Cairo for 'security reasons' but being unable to select a runway prevents me from inputting V speeds etc so it's a no go. Anyone else got this issue?

I can select departure runways as well as various approaches in the 777 FMC. I also think the airport looks good. Not as good as the best of the best, but certainly good enough. Textures look sharp, there's some nice PBR and reflection effects, there's decent interior modelling and the night lighting seems good. Last but not least - performance is good. Of course this is highly dependant on hardware, but I'm getting 70+ FPS with AIG traffic set to 100%.

Thanks for the reviews guys! I actually pulled the trigger and got it yesterday night... Didn't see it was available at OrbX though, otherwise probably would have bought it there! Will do a flight later today or tomorrow and report back.

British avgeek just done a flight on YouTube from Heca and had a quick review of it.

hmm, it looks ok. I’m not sure if the asobo one with the enhancement mod looks equally good, besides the interior.

i miss the airport reviews from filbertflies, they were awesome.
