I have now from the MSFS World page set up, saved, and can recall cold and dark scenarios as .flt plans using any aircraft I choose, default or addon. I saved about five last evening and today started two of them. One with the Flight FX Hjet for flight starting from a parking spot at KMIA, and the other with the Blacksquare Turbo Duke from a parking spot at KTYQ.. Please go back and read the opening sentence in the original post by Himmelhorse: "I wish to create a new flight Cold and Dark start at a jetway or just parked." That is what is being discussed here when staying on topic. July 27, 20241 yr @himmelhorse Perhaps give SkyDolly a try. It is free and saves the flight for playback. You can stop the playback at any time and take control. This would increase your options. The only drawback is that you may have to re-enter flight plans. Some aircraft work like a charm with this program. July 27, 20241 yr Author Hi guys, Here is an update of what is happening for me. Initially I thought that this was brilliant (still do actually) I have only tried it with freeware aircraft and this may or may not be my problem. On three occasions in one day, my computer just turned itself off. There have been no new downloads or liveries added to my Community folder Three different aircraft FBW airbus, the freeware 787, and the Longtitude. They all save well and load well. I have deleted my new drive folder for downloads and it now downloads to the default values. After the three computer failures, I deleted all my saved flights and reloaded them into my original drive folder (not the same one as MSFS is installed on) By that time it was too late to experiment further and I switched off the computer and went to bed. I will resume my efforts today. I cannot see why this would make any difference but it is just something to try. At this stage, My computer is sporting new hardware and this could be the problem too. I am not yet ready to blame the save/load system as the cause of the computer shutdowns without warning. It only happens when I am in MSFS and flying.and/or learning. Because this was initially meant just to learn new procedures, and I am alternating between flying other aircraft and learning via the save/load system, I am now unsure whether or not this is happening just on the instances when I am learning. However now that it is happening, I will make a note of what I am doing when it crashes(if indeed it continues to happen). So .... Just a heads up for now. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Did you note from the original post that he wanted to save flight begining scenarios cold and dark? He did not ask about saving "in-flight" scenarios. Saving a C&D situation turns out to be simple in MSFS itself if you simply in the World screen designate an aircraft, perhaps even livery, airport and parking spot for departure, and I use the same (or even other) airport as a destination. Then save with a unique filename. I have found I can later load that cold and dark .flt plan, placing me C&D at the saved condition with the saved model and livery (if both are available in Community foldeer). I can then change the time/day to current and in my case bring in a separately created fresh flight plan from Navigraph or Littlenavmap and start up from there. July 28, 20241 yr Author Hi guys, I wish to restate that I am extremely happy with the default save.load system. It works brilliantly and is exactly what I was looking for. I am still trying to sort out the sudden and random computer failure. Whatever I am doing, there is no flicker, slowing down ie throttling due temps, or other indications, when the screen goes black. I look at the computer and it has powered down. I am still trying to find out why .... whether it is the computer, Windows11 Pro or MSFS. No luck so far as there has been no crash thus far today and it only happens when I am in MSFS. Apart from what I have already stated in previous posts I have no further information to impart at the moment. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. July 28, 20241 yr Author Hello all, I think I have found my problem. A mate brought round a copy of his FS2Crew for me to try. I had several problems in that I found I had to start it with admin priveleges, Then I tried to click on it before I loaded MSFS. I compounded that by trying to use it before the aircraft was fully loaded and when it was loaded that is when I started having the computer failures. With my mates guidance I have repeated these mistakes with computer failures seemingly guaranteed. In his defence, He is a very recent buyer and is still experimenting with it. I have since sorted it all out and had a flight with it. I am impressed and will buy it I think. For now, it has been uninstalled and the software taken back. I have to state that he was not a great tutor nor ambassador for this software. I have however, fixed my problem for the time being and all is well again (albeit without FS2Crew) This brings up the point though, that maybe a trial programme for this software may be a viable proposition for the Developer. I had no idea how good this software is (if done properly LOL) and despite knowing of its existence, I have really never been tempted to buy it in the past. That changes from now though and I will save up to buy it in the near future. Thanks again guys for all your responses. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard.
