Westland Scout

Featured Replies

Hi all,

a new helicopter is available at the marketplace for a special price and it's by Inibuilds. Similar to their old Bell it works very well and looks perfect.

Usually I do not promote addons expressly but here I can say: A "must have". There's a wheeled version as well.

This is around ENTO Sandefjord, Norway.

There is another old helicopter by Inibuilds which is the Bell 47 which is even older (1950 or so). It's a bit slow, max cruise is only 75 knots, but good to practice.

Pretty ugly design that bird, but it seems to get you some fun!

That's precisely why I haven't bothered to buy it 😃

But after having seen your really nice shots, Andi, I might be tempted and reconsider 🙂

Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds

Beautiful discovery flight in Norway...

I recall XP had always a great supply of Helicopters, but nice to see them in MSFS too ...Lovely shots ...!

Thank's a lot P_7878, glad you like the shots. Let's say the helicopter crowd is growing in msfs. We now have the Guimbal and the B407

which are good to fly and free and we have the 2 oldtimer by Inibuilds which are as good and not expensive.

And we have the great Hype Airbus H135 freeware which has a working autopilot for cruise.

The Scout and Wasp were military helicopters, developed for the British Army and Royal Navy respectively, so aesthetics were not a concern. They served almost 30 years and 25 years in those forces until replaced by the Lynx, serving in varied locations, Northern Ireland and the Falklands conflict included. Versatile for a light helicopter of that era, transporting troops, performing surveillance and being capable of attacking with GMPGs, missiles (Scout & Wasp) or torpedoes and depth charges (Wasp).

Exactly, thank you for your note.

Have noticed one issue with the scout now and that is the collective which is not incremented enough. 1 hit of the binded key causes too much

lift or sink rate. Have another helicopter in msfs doing that, brings you into trouble while flying, no good.
