Hi all, updated to the latest Nvidia driver 8.1 . i also updated to the latest AMD Chipset for AM5 x670E , is anyone else getting crazy temp spikes with FG turned on  in the sim ? almost thermo throttling. if i turn FG off mid 50's Celsius   and smooth as you like ,bit weird ? strange but good thing is i guess is that, with FG turned off now and any frame limiter or Vsync also turned off , aim getting a wonderful smooth experience with this VRR and LLM gsync compatible TV for the first time , go figure ?? 

Maybe its time to park FG ! for now

I'm on 560.70 and FG is working fine. Surely FG should not be broken with the latest driver. If it is, you could go full-on lossless scaling with 650+ fps:

I'm on 560.81 with latest AMD Ryzen Chipset Drivers 6.07.22.037, FG ON, running a 7900X3D, x670E mobo, just tested in heavy scenario no spikes at all, max 60C.

I had temp spikes 3 or 4 weeks ago. The On/Off switch on back of my desktop computer was inbetween, just barely on. I had accidentally nudged it with my foot. Threw the switch full on and the high temps have been normal ever since.

Check fan speeds in bios. Might need new paste on the cpu head. Or a new cooler.

At any rate, you can just install an old version of the Nvidia driver. It's as easy as installing a newer driver.

lol, nice !

latest chipset and bios. cant be the cooler because when i turn off FG fan speed temps and noise back to lowish and stable temps ? could be a bios or other setting maybe a TV setting . Oh well investigation under way ! to be honest i like the lack of latency of the CPU with FG turned off

Captain i may give that a go, even in 4K ?

Regarding 650 fps in the video: If I'm in DX11 and using Lossless FG, the fps will be dependent of the monitor refresh rate.

If I set monitor refresh to 60 Hz in Windows Display Settings, Lossless will pin fps to 60 and it won't move off of that. It's just 60 fps and stays exactly there at every airport scenery, and when I pan the views fast.

My Dell monitor allows 60, 120, 144, 165 Hz refresh rate.

If I set refresh to 165, then fps will not stay put at one fps. It will vary from about 90 to 140. Because Lossless is trying get to 165 but I don't have good enough cpu/gpu. It averages about 120 fps.

For you guys with a 4K TV for a monitor that only does 60 Hz refresh rate, I doubt that Lossless will work miracle triple digits fps regardless that you have top notch computer hardware. Because your max Hz is 60.

Well, I'll be. I just now tried an app and now I can lock at the full 165 fps, and it does budge from that. Before it was 90 to 140 varying. Now a steady and easily locked 165 (my monitor's highest refresh rate). I've never seen this much fps before in any flight. None of my settings in MSFS were changed. It just tuned my GPU. Hopefully I won't start getting messages from MSFS about my GPU not working.

Impressive. Are you using x3 then? E.g. native frame gen to 55 then x3.

No X2. And no native FG.

I'm not sure if it's like this for everyone, but if I set monitor refresh to 60 in Windows Display Settings, then X2 FSFG gives me 60 easily and it will never go higher except maybe for a second or two. Nor below. It just locks at 60

At monitor set to 120Hz refresh rate, then LSFG locks at 120. My Dell monitor also does 144 but can't lock it in all the time.  The 4th choice on my monitor is 165, but to get even near that I have to turn down DLSS to balanced instead of quality and render to "high end" instead of ultra.

I'm not using TAA or none of this would be possible. Also not possible for me with DX12, has to be DX11.

Here's the true clue (and what I haven't mentioned, sneaky me), In LSFG I move the "performance" slider to ON. It's sort of a cheat I guess! So, not as wonderful as it may seem... he he.

I might give it a try. Interesting that fps locks to refresh rate.

Yeah it surprised me I was trying to work on performance and had been fooling around, changing from 60 to 120, because 40 is 120/3 and you can't get 40 as a fraction of 60. As a lark, I tried 165 and it jumped up to that number. I didn't expect that big of an increase for just changing the refresh rate. I still don't understand why.

have any of you guys have a second monitor ( not used for sim ) with LSFG on iam struggling to see my mouse on the second screen . this screen i use for navigraph , avsim, youtube etc . bit annoying when you end up hitting the wrong item with your mouse cursor ?

 

very weird/funny seeing 200 fps on a 4K TV departing heathrow. thats with LSFG and Native sim FG also turned on , temps still a little high but it has been hot today in the UK the North anyway
