August 25, 20241 yr After I had to install MSFS again I hoped I had gotten rid of these 2 long pauses, one shortly after take off, and the other when on approach. Long meaning 15 secs or more. It causes the Fenix AP to disengage and the plane to make very abrupt movements. In the beginning I thought it was a problem with the weather in MSFS as the weather (pressure, wind) asways seemed to change after the pause. If so, than it has to do with my region. But one can almost predict when the pause comes which makes it unlikely. It also happens when flying the PMDG aircraft, but the pauses are a bit shorter and the impact on the flight is less. Even when not using any extra tool like Map Enhancement or Active Sky the pauses are there. It has been a while a since I read about them here, so I am wondering has everyone accepted them and are we all longing for MSFS2024 or have they been solved and have I missed the solution? Have you tried renaming your current Community Folder and trying with an empty folder? It sounds like something is causing your PC to be bottlenecked. Is MSFS exceeding your 8 GB VRAM budget? Is your internet connection stable? Is your MSFS installed on a fast SSD drive and is there enough space left on it? What TLOD setting value are you using? Do you have lots of vehicles, AI traffic, shipping sapping your CPU? Do you have photogrammetry turned on? Mods like WeLoveVFR, Bijan Seasons or lots of freeware libraries enabled? Go back to a simple, clean MSFS. If it is a hardware issue it will show up quite quickly. If not, add back your mods (make sure you are using the latest versions) until you notice the performance drop reappear. August 25, 20241 yr Is this always happening at the same place? I was wondering if a certain airport ir other piece of scenery might be the issue. Otherwise, you may very well be running short of VRAM which might mean you need to lower your settings to test, particularly TLOD and perhaps OLED. A few details of your system and settings might help including whether you use the FGR program. The AutoFPS program could help. I just set up a flight using only MSFS and it happened again. It happens at all airports but it does depend of the size of the airport and traffic. Yes, I am on DX12, my settings are quite moderate following IslandSimPilot's suggestions. TLOD is 200, TAA set, AutoFps works ok, Lossless is having a negative effect on my FPS. I do use FSLTL but it's only consequence is some FPS, no stutters. FG is on. The Community folder is quite full, I guess I will have to go over that as I remember I did have those pauses but not quite a long as now (just timed it, 30 secs takes away the thrill of 'being there'...... I also get an appreciable pause when about 5-10 minutes away from my destination. I haven't paid enough attention to say that it "always" happens - but it certainly happens often enough to be a recognisable issue. August 26, 20241 yr Check your VRAM usage when it pauses, if it is exceeding your cards limit try DX 11 instead. System: I ASRock X670E | AMD 7800X3D | 64Gb DDR5 6000 | RTX 4090 | 2TB NVMe | Seasonic Vertex 1000W I LG Ultra Gear 34 UW I
