But a grown-up cat vs a golden retriever puppy... it's obvious the cat will win.

Yeah, would like to see a hunting dog vs. a cat.

Now that I think about it; I'd rather not see that.. 🤢

This reminds me of a story I heard a number of years ago. This dude was going out from his house one morning with his hunting dog (do believe it was a 'Jämtlandshund' Jämthund - Wikipedia). Upon getting to his car he saw a cat on the hood of his car. Annoyed by this regular occurrence (and the scratches on the paint) he was frustrated. The dog was itching to go and the guy jokingly said "go get him" despite not really meaning it.

The dog did. One bite and it was game over. No more scratches on the paint I suppose.

I’ll see your hunting dog and raise you a Siberian Tiger:

😂

Was kind of expecting this answer. Cat people tend to bring up those large cats on occasion. 😅

Still though, those fluffy things snoozing in your lap don’t really compare to the big cats.

Oh, absolutely! For me personally, my favorite animals have always been tigers. It goes back to when I was a toddler and stayed overnight at my aunt & uncle’s house, they let me sleep with one of my cousin’s stuffed tiger. So I’ve always thought of cats as mini-tigers. And I suspect they think of themselves that way, too 🐅

I absolutely get where you are coming from. Love cats myself as I grew up with the little furballs. Haven't had one since wifey and the youngest (especially him) are allergic to cats. I wouldn't mind having a cat at all and would really like a Ragdoll or Maine Coon. The house sure is empty without an animal and I'm still missing our dog of 15.5 years since he passed six months ago.
