Performance interesting observation (Zoom)

Featured Replies

Hi, i was in Drone view in Inibuild KJFK and noticed my GTX1080TI was changing from 42% to 100% in GPU load making the scenery stutter and with a simple click on Zoom out the FPS and stutter went back to 42% and vice versa.

Check your zoom level and see if its set to high . I use a Xbox controller and have bind 2 buttons to this.

Will see if there is benefits in VC also

I'm sorry, what “zoom” are you talking about?

"Increase Drone Zoom"  - "vice versa

Huge difference on my system

Isn't that just altering the Field Of View (FOV) therefore smaller = better performance? Seems like it to me at least.

Well yes  , but zooming out is getting better performance , there was huge differents with just a small correction

Maybe it loads in higher OLODS when you zoom in? just a thought.

could be so but the small correction made the whole differents from a 42% GPU load to 100%

Yes it makes a huge difference, zoom in decreases fps down to 40. neutral zoom is 60. zoom out is 55. The reason I did not notice before is that in drone view I moved the view forward and backward (1) all the time and assigned the commands to my yoke, but never before zoomed the drone view forward and backward(2). But I do now, just added them. The drone view reset button returns all to neutral (reset drone target offset). The big red button on my Alpha yoke resets cockpit, outside, drone, and slew views. All 4 reset commands assigned to that button.

2 increase drone zoom

2 decrease drone zoom

1 translate drone forward

1 translate drone backward
