My Other UFO 'encounter'

Featured Replies

Some of you may have seen the short video I produced where I talk about an extraordinary UFO encounter I had back in the mid seventies. I have only ever had one other encounter, and that was a few years ago on the island of Madeira. We were driving across the top of the island and I stopped to take a shot of the long road, which I thought was worthy of a pic. I didn't see anything at the time, but on closer look once we were home. I saw a cigar shaped object in the sky. I thought this may prove interesting to some. While I believe what I saw that night in the mid seventies, literally couldn't be explained away with one of the usual excuses, I guess this photograph may have an explanation. Having said that, it certainly doesn't look like any plane. The way the light is hitting it also seems to suggest, to me, that it's cylindrical in shape. BTW, if you click on the image, hold down the left control key, you can zoom in with the mouse's scroll wheel.

I had an up close and personal (about 1000') experience with a UAP when I was 12 and have since seen a few, one of which was with my ex-wife and that was enormous and totally silent.

Blimey Mike, sounds interesting. 'Please spill the beans!' I'd be interested in hearing more in a PM if not here

I have never seen a UFO or anything strange in the sky.  I guess I've never been at the right place at the right time.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Well it certainly looks like a cylinder.

The only thing I can think of is a solar balloon, which sometimes are cylindrical.

Did it do anything unusual or just float there?

Not sure Martin, as I only discovered it after the event. I didn't see it while I was taking the photograph.

Doesnt look like any kind of film artifact. And you can see it's illuminated on one side,so probably a real airborne object.

Cylindrical solar balloon is all I've got. 🤔

My whole take on the 'UFO' thing is this; 'I saw a UFO in the sky. I don't know what it was; it must have been Extraterrestrials or something.' The 'U' in UFO stands for 'Unidentified'.

Well, if one doesn't know what it is (or was), that's where the Conversation should stop. One shouldn't go on and say that it was anything. Unless one has absolute, irrefutable, tangible proof (like something that actually came or originated from the Object in question), any further explanation is nothing more than an attempt to satisfy an 'argument from Ignorance'.

Exactly, and that's why there is no reference to little green men or aliens from Mars! Either in this post or in my video...
