He isn't wrong on the point about.....

I ignored the rest of his post as I do with all of them, only responded to the Jorg comment as he was clearly looking for (another) argument instead of seeing that I had clearly edited my post 🙂

Either way as above, if not Jorg then #Someone could've spent an hour showcasing the product, I've seen it happen with many other devs in the past, no reason they couldn't of done something similar here. Any way, matters not, roll on Tuesday 🙂

I have a very strong suspicion they're feeling the pressure right now. I love what MS/Asobo have done w/ MSFS, but if I have one criticism I think they tend to be too optimistic with what they'll be a

  • It's his massive project and it's 6 days away from release, I wouldn't expect him on that stream if I were a dev. He probably shouldn't be, there's always a lot to wrap up in the final week before a b

It's always very convenient to ignore when people prove you wrong.

This is a niche livestream for a niche audience that has already decided to purchase the sim a million years ago. Showing us "the product" is what you'd like, but it has basically no marketing effect. Again, you're confusing what you want with what is beneficial for this simulator's promotion. They're not the same thing.

Jorg's limited time would be much better spent sitting for an interview with PCGamer, for example, if it's going to be marketing activities.

Bingo.

Speaking of PC Gamer. Can't wait to see what they'll pull out this time. Last time they told people that to activate the autopilot you have to turn on the AI copilot... and that "guide" is still up and has never been corrected 😂

Come next week, the internet will be chock full of "articles" about Microsoft Flight Simulator, some actually useful, some incredibly dumb like the one I described above, some absolutely inane like Kotaku's "review" of the original MSFS, but they're all gonna be good for marketing, much unlike sitting in a hour-long livestream explaining features (again) to people who are already buying the sim if they didn't already.

Why do you want it to be showcased so badly? You had a tech demo, lots of presentations, all sorts of info. We just need to wait a few days and it’s here.

And in marketing terms - they don’t need to promote the product at this point. As Abrael said previously they’ve convinced everyone who was going to get it - the core audience - well in advance. And the general public will come once it’s out.

Ultimately it’s a platform that will generate interest passively - through activity, new releases, and a big push from Gamepass. They don’t need to convince people on the fence to get it because those people can just check it out for themselves.

Also remember FS2024 is all over Xbox marketing, it’s been on all Gamepass promotions, highlights, etc.

They said that in the stream? If yes, thats a great news, wich i cant help to feel we devs should have known about that before you guys lol

He said they were just discussing it today. Sounds like the decision was just made.

For potential newcomers, the wider Flight Sim Community etc etc. It's not just about you & me. Anyway for the final time, it matters not, it was just an opinion that's all, roll on next tuesday....again!

So I think I’m right in saying as a purchaser of the collector’s edition I will receive an email with a code for a months game pass.
Then a second email with a code for the aviator edition upgrade.

I can then down load and set up the sim and then before the end of the months game pass expires I should receive my physical box with a code inside which I can enter and my month long simulator will then turn into my forever simulator ?

I suppose that works.
