November 13, 20241 yr Interesting. I’ve got over 1000 hours in Caravans on floats. Wonder how it’ll actually handle on water.

Oh that's awesome... never been on one but used to see them all the time when I worked in DLH. My buddy's plane is based at SGS where Wipaire is as well so I'm no stranger to seeing them. I imagine the 2024 water dynamics will be greatly improved from 2020. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

I feel like the big thing I always notice is they bob up and down like corks. The Van can weigh 9100 pounds. It just plows THROUGH small waves. It doesn’t ride up and down much on waves until they get 2-3 feet, and then they’re coming over the bows lol. It’s tough to get right. Nobody has even come close yet.

November 13, 20241 yr Great news. I've been waiting for the amphibian van to come along. A new soundset and textures are a bonus as well. There a few based in Broome Australia for flights to the horizontal waterfalls and pearl farms. Great memories of my years there. Edited November 13, 20241 yr by petejohno1

Behave mostly the same way. One fun thing about the Van is that if you’re sailing it, it doesn’t sail straight backwards like a 185 does. It sits at like 30 degrees to the wind because the fuselage is so boxy. Of course, sailing a Caravan is a bad day haha. It’s a big airplane to move around like that.

You should definitely get in touch with Nick from Black Square. 1000+ hours is quite a lot on a turbine amphib. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 13, 20241 yr Amazing. I was just thinking about the Caravan and how much I missed it. I skipped their older version but looking forward to this one. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
November 13, 20241 yr Author I've wanted an amphibian forever.
