You can definitely see the potential. It feels like a big step forward, just with a ton of bugs all over the place. Patience is required. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

Why are we seeing these kinds of blunders? 800 Devs, so many new aircraft but core stuff which really bugs me 😝 No big mysteries here... Lots of devs and multiple different teams, working on a very complex software system, and needing to release on an immovable date set by MS (for various reasons, some of them understandable I'm sure, some of them not to our liking I'm sure). That all then leads to the kind of release this has been. Outside of the initial day launch issues and the massive underestimating of server load and # of users, looks like when the sim is working then you can see all the promised advancements being realized, albeit with bugs. Now ideally, with true agile software development practices "it'll release when it's ready", but that works much better in theory than in practice in today's software world, especially entertainment software like this. But bugs can be squashed in time, and all what I'm hearing so far has me very encouraged about the new sim platform that appears to advance the genre by sizeable amounts yet again like 2020 did. I'm especially excited about the well known weaknesses of 2020 being addressed, and then some. Bring on the MSFS 2024 era for the next 4+ years! Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD

But I'm getting a bad feeling about this. -its now more gamey than ever? -flight physics have been dumbed down? (Helicopters?) -the key mappings have all changed? Only 4 saved view positions? -The trees are STILL way Oversized? -The curtain effect on bridges is STILL there and worse than ever? What is happening to this 'sim' ? Why are we seeing these kinds of blunders? 800 Devs, so many new aircraft but core stuff which really bugs me 😝 Aviator's Edition is working fine for me so far. Have only done about half a dozen short flights so far, mainly to see how the new addons fly. I can say the flight model is NOT dumbed down and is significantly different than v2020. There are at least some rough spots I've noticed, but so far I like it better than v2020. I LOVE having all the aircraft default to an individual control set up for each aircraft, AND that it's good enough to get in and fly. Yes, I still see inaccuracies in scenery, but only up close. I haven't yet tried a few of the High Fidelity 3PD addons I have that appear to work, but so far, this seems like a good release that will do well in a short time.
