October 28, 20241 yr Any ideas what's going to happen with LNM for MSFS2024? Support for PLN files seems mostly 'deprecated' by Working Title in favor of their in-game 'EFB' tablet talking directly to their in-game Garmin panels. The World Map 'load PLN' option has gone. The EFB tablet is supposed to have a 'load PLN' button but this looks like it's only just been added as an afterthought (the button still shows its 'reference' title instead of the expected label text) and everything in the PLN gets thrown away except for the lat/long of each waypoint.
October 28, 20241 yr No idea. The bigger problem is their not documented BGL format. If this changes significantly it might be anything between a lot of work to undoable. We'll see. I have no access to their stuff yet. 2 hours ago, B21 said: everything in the PLN gets thrown away except for the lat/long of each waypoint. Doesn't make sense to me. You cannot define a plan by coordinates only. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap

A forum post from WT today suggests they're going to come out with a new PLN format so we'll have to wait and see. IMHO they'll likely have a strong focus on what they need for their EFP in-game webapp to talk to their Garmin instrument panels though, rather than finding out how LNM has been used over the centuries.

I looks like the PLN format did not change (yet) according to documentation for 2024: https://docs.flightsimulator.com/msfs2024/html/5_Content_Configuration/Mission_XML_Files/Flight_Plan_XML_Properties.htm?agt=index Although this is for missions. Not sure if a user can still load plans from the user interface. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
November 2, 20241 yr Hello everyone, will the latest version of LNM work with MSFS 2024 which arrives on November 19, 2024 Thank you in advance for your answers.😉 Newdeclic
November 2, 20241 yr Very unlikely. I have to adapt LNM and have no idea how long this will take. Maybe two days, maybe much longer. I have no access to MSFS 2024 yet but will get it once it's released to the public. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
November 2, 20241 yr I'm hoping that if LNM references the base BGL files that contain the default airports, navdata, airspaces etc., that they are automatically streamed.
November 3, 20241 yr I'm pretty sure that SimConnect hasn't changed since this would break a lot of applications and add-ons. This means that you should be able to use your MSFS 2020 scenery library database to plan and use LNM for flight following in MSFS 2024 in the meantime. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
November 3, 20241 yr I merged the other thread into this one and pinned it. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap
November 8, 20241 yr I just realized why you weren't too concerned about MSFS2024 streaming its files to the user's PC. This is a quote from a Moderator on the MSFS Official forums: FS2024 is going to offer you the choice of cloud storage, and streamed to you, or stored on your device.

Looking at the documentations they still have manifest and layout files like 2020. Alex Alex' Projects: Little Navmap

Alex If all that was available was streamed data, when creating its database, LNM would have to have every default airport and navdata BGL streamed instantaneously, which could take a lot more time than just reading local files.
