I tested LNMap with MSFS2024 and it worked OK! From FS2020 I changed nothing - I use LNMAp in my laptop in a network configuration.

Thanks Alex!

Thanks, Edmundo.👍 Good to know.

I'll have a look at the rest of the sim tomorrow. I hope there is a scenery library to load ...

The request below was removed and discussion now continues here: https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/provide-readable-airport-data-for-little-navmap/11926

I started a request in the MSFS support forums: Provide readable airport data for Little Navmap

Please vote there if you'd like to see Little Navmap to support MSFS 2024. This is currently not doable.

The main airport data is encrypted, incomplete and streamed on demand, which prevents me from adapting Little Navmap to MSFS 2024. There is no way to load this scenery library partially locked down by DRM. Also, I see structural changes in the current navdata BGL files that will be very difficult to come by since the format is not documented.

What you can do now with Little Navmap and MSFS 2024

The flight plan format (PLN) has changed. You can load Little Navmap plans in MSFS but you have to select procedures manually in the MSFS 2024 EFB.

I'll adapt Little Navmap for a next release to allow loading and saving MSFS 2024 flight plans.

Note that the simulator connection is not affected by any of this and for now you can still use Little Navmap for flight following using the MSFS 2020 or an Navigraph scenery library database.

If you have a subscription and updated Little Navmap navdata to the latest and would like to use Navigraph

  1. Switch to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 in the menu Scenery Library.
  2. Deselect Select Automatically in menu -> Scenery Library -> Navigraph.
  3. Select Use Navigraph for all Features in menu -> Scenery Library -> Navigraph.
  4. Connect to MSFS 2024 from menu Tools -> Connect to Flight Simulator, click on tab MSFS and on Connect.

Note the limitations in this mode where no aprons and taxiways are shown.

If you would like to use your MSFS 2020 Scenery Library Database

  1. Switch to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 in the menu Scenery Library.
  2. Connect to MSFS 2024 from menu Tools -> Connect to Flight Simulator and click on tab MSFS and Connect.

I was just chatting with Raul of FSReborn and he said he and other devs are able to access data via the Simconnect facilities API and that it's open to anyone. Might be worth looking into?

Do you have to link to the API? I looked into the  documentation but could not find anything.

Probably SimConnect_RequestFacilitesList ? The problem is:

The simulation keeps a facilities cache of all the airports within the world, and all the waypoints, NDB and VOR stations within a certain radius of the aircraft.

As the user aircraft moves, waypoints, NDB and VOR stations will be added to and removed from the cache, however no changes will be made to airports as they are all already in the list.

No idea how to handle this in LNM.

Can the radius be adjusted? Say, to encompass the globe?

Not as far as I can see. No radius parameter and:

NOTE: The "reality bubble" is approximately 200,000 meters around the aircraft.

I don't get it why they changed this. Does not make sense at all. Just for the sake of streaming and cloud stuff?

I did see this portion on the SDK documentation, though:

Seems at least you can get all the airports, but not sure about navaids.

EDIT: I noted that for the navaids/waypoints, there's a value to enter for "dwArraySize". Could that have anything to do with how much of the world to request, hopefully? Forgive my cluelessness, I'm no developer or programmer but eager to help.

Done. I assumed that when Asobo said they would allow users to choose between local and streamed, that the base airport and navdata wouldn't be encrypted if the user downloaded it to their PC.  We'll have to see what is actually done when Asobo implements this change to "My Library".
