November 26, 20241 yr Last week, I decided to get rid of the planes I was not using in my Simobjects/airplane folder. I really deleted many of them that just were downloaded (all free ones) because they looked interesting, but remained UNUSED. Using P3dv5.4. Anyway, I notice that many 737's (Legacy) in my sim now have HALF WINGS! Obviously, I deleted a file that affects the wings on many of my 737's. Would anyone have an idea which file I inadvertently deleted? It's too late anyway because I emptied my recycle bin. Just curious if there's some way I could acquire that file. So easy and it’s helped me on several occasions. Ray (Cheshire, England). Maybe not even a result of the deletion but maybe something changed on the rig to break registration. Sometimes one has installed the plane 4 years ago and changed the drive or gpu and some copy protection can no longer identify your rig. How about just reinstall this plane. Make sure to keep the entries in aircraft.cfg of your liveries. If you keep the folder of the 737 aircraft the liveries should remain untouched by reinstalling the plane. Only the aircraft.cfg will be replaced by the default one. All 737 200,400,500,600 are ok. I think I may have deleted the DEFAULT 737 by mistake. Perhaps that's what's doing it. Is it possible to get a copy of the P3d V5.4 DEFAULT 737 somewhere? I really don't know what else could be causing this phenomenon. Thanks. ps. Oh yes, the 757 aircraft were also affected by this "half wing" syndrome. Edited November 27, 20241 yr by spilok
November 27, 20241 yr What's the use of a recycle bin if you empty it ? I keep deleted file for at least 6 months. AMD 7 7700X, 32GB DDR5, RTX 5060ti 16GB, 2 x Samsung 1TB NVMe, 1 x 4TB sata SSD, Windows 11 Prof
November 27, 20241 yr Are those planes with half wings from TDS(Tenkuu Development Studios)? TDS has some silly model protection built in so if you change anything using a model editor half of the wings won't display. I still don't understand how deleting some planes would affect the remaining ones, though. November 28, 20241 yr Author I have deleted all TDS planes and tried to install one afterwards. I got the same issue of no wings on the plane. I did find out though that this is a common occurrence and not just me. Here's what I found from years ago on AVSIM and other sites from forum members. This should appear in the planes config: // WARNING NEVER TAKE OFF "FREEWARE_(C)_TDS_16AUG2013" from title= ------------------------- // If you do those , wings will be gone and other unexpected things will happen. | // Title must be under 127 character since FSX will cause error when exceed. | I checked and that line is indeed in the TDS config. However, the issue still persists with any TDS planes that are freshly downloaded. I'll keep searching for a solution. Edited November 28, 20241 yr by spilok

That's quite odd. I've modified TDS models and had this happen, but then just reverted to the original model and the wings reappeared. I don't use TDS any more as their models' attached lights don't work right and I can't change them. I posted on their facebook page a while back and asked them to remove the landing and taxi lights from their models - the reply was not friendly, and they refused. It's a shame as the models are very nice.
