In case anyone is interested: I also had the problem that the assigned key would open the ATC window but not close. I finally figured out why.

Turns out there are TWO ways to open this window and there were keys assigned to both options. One is called Open Communications Panel and the other is called Display ATC. After removing all assignements for Display ATC and only assigning a key (and in my case also a button) to Open Communications Panel the assigned key (and button) now FINALLY work as a toggle! 🙂

The reason that one command is called ATC and the other one Communications, is to fool the flyer. A funny Halloween trick by Asosbo.

Just like they used Increase Cockpit View Height but Translate Cockpit View Right instead of similarly named commands. They want to confuse the flyer.
