Joystick profile won't stay default

Featured Replies

I have a few user created profiles for mouse, keyboard and joystick. I set them all to be default. The mouse and keyboard profiles remain default but the joystick profiler is reset to the generic one each and every time I restart MSFS 2024. So I have to select both joystick profiles every time. Quite annoying... Anyone else having similar problems? And perhaps a solution?

I've had the exact same problem, but no solution.  I'ev learned to just go in each and every time to check my controller profiles.  Sometimes they stay, other times not.

Same here.

Apparently got more erratic in the last few days, even before the patch, so I can't blame the patch.

Sometimes the aircraft I select for free flight have the correct profiles "attached" to my controllers, that I had made default ( and whose "default" option is greyed out) but then, sometimes they revert to some profile associated with the last aircraft I was flying 😕

It is definitely not stable...

I am thinking about going back to MSFS 2020 because of the controls, it is a nightmare, I got new controllers hoping it will be better but always problem with profiles and different aircraft’s. Had enough

Well, honestly, I wouldn't go back just for that... All of the additional beauty and the performance added by FS 2024 are, ate least for me, more than worth the transition.

Ik ervaar hetzelfde, en controleer het elke keer eerst voordat ik ga vliegen. Maar het zou niet mogen gebeuren.

Have you tried "apply to all aircraft"?

I did. Didn't help. I even had this after a complete reinstall of Windows 11 and MSFS 2024. I also deleted the profiles that wouldn't stay default and created new ones: they also won't stay default. Luckily you can change the profile now using the toolbar.

Sure did, and still do everytime I find an inconsistent setup that was consistent some sessions before ...

They will probably fix it one day, and in the meanwhile and as someone said, it's just another item in the "checklist" before going to "fly" 🙂
