MSFS 2024 - - Aviator or Premium Deluxe Edition

Featured Replies

Before I purchase MSFS 2024, wondering if it is worth paying the premium price for the Aviator edition or is the Premium Deluxe edition is good enough?  Is it just a matter of the number of aircraft included and handcrafted airports?

I would pay attention as to how long before even half the bugs are fixed.

Is it still pretty bad? Which edition is better?

The difference is the Aviator edition has all of the frequent flier/local legend airplanes.  Also if you have PD now, if you get standard the airports and planes from 2020 will carry over. You won’t get the new PD airplanes, naturally. There aren’t any new airports in PD.

I’d take a look at which airplanes you realistically think you will fly.  You ight be able to get by with standard.

I understand the bugs are significant but i presume they will be fixed. If they are about their reputation to some degree, I don’t see how they would depart from an unfinished product.

Will my aircraft from MSFS 2020 transfer over to the Aviator edition should I choose to purchase aviator. To me, the most important consideration is to be able to transfer over my addons from 2020.

Which aircraft? Asobo or thirds party?

Third party. I rarely fly default Asobo aircraft.

It’s more miss than hit. The Fenix works ok but the PMDG/iFly do not. There is no eta to bring them over.

I really don’t care for the legacy aircraft. As long as I am able to transition all or most of my third party addons, I should be fine. Looks like all the photogrammetry is included in the PD and Aviator.

If you don’t fly the Asobo airplanes you might be fine with Standard actually. The only difference is in the airplanes/airports. Standard has the photogrammetry also.

Which version do you have now?

For airplanes, this is not possible currently. If you fly the PMDG the most I’d wait for it to be made compatible.

I have MSFS 2020 PD edition.

The PD airports you will get 2024 versions of if you even get standard.

If I could go back in time I would only get the standard version. I've already disabled all but one of the default aircraft. I may rent one or two from the other editions when that function becomes available but I only really want third party aircraft.
