December 27, 20241 yr Hello, Today, I removed MSFS2020, bought MSFS 2024. Installation was really fast. I did a very simple IFR flight using the Da62. No issue. ( I do follow MSFS2024 topics from the beginning, the negative comments have not discouraged me, I know that there will always be dissatisfied people) I am naturally positive ! I try to find free manuals to start. I really prefer pdf files to YouTube videos. Thanks in advance for your help. Note : Later, I will probably buy a book. Comments found on the Amazon website for "MSFS 2024 Beginners Quick Guide" for example are mostly negative. Can you also suggest me a good book ? Bonnes fêtes de fin d'année à tous.
December 27, 20241 yr Good for you! I think we go through this every time anything new comes out. Have to have patience while the bugs get worked out, and they will enough make it a very nice sim experience.
December 27, 20241 yr Unfortunately, we live in times when a half-page text instruction is replaced by a dozen of half-hour Youtube videos 😔 Some of the stock aircrafts have manuals here

I recently bough Sublogic flight sim 2 for the Commodore 64 off eBay just so I could read the quality physical manuals that came in the box again. They're actually really good books to introduce people to the basics of real flight and simulation alike. i still have the Sublogic ATP manual on my shelf. 787 captain. What I try to find is a manual covering the simulator interface itself. Learning by trials is empirical and takes longer! At a minimum, a pdf summarizing the possibilities would be welcome. Gone are the days when our software came with a printed booklet. Even if it became obsolete after updates, it remained useful because we could annotate our remarks there.

Just do yourself one favor. DO NOT switch your controls profile from the 2024 control set to the 2020 control set. While that will change most of the key and control bindings to what they were in 2020, the 2020 control profile messes up all of the bindings for the user interface (MSFS2024 menus, etc.). You can still work through the menus using the mouse, but it is a pain in the you know what not having proper the keyboard assignments. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440
December 28, 20241 yr Another good way to learn a new airplane is use the checklist in the EFB. By clicking the eye it will show you what to click next. Better than trying to remember all those steps on YouTube. i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive
