Difference Between Performance Products

Featured Replies

Those products all are designed to increase performance. One thing I find is that if I use any frame limiter outside of msfs, then it slows down performance drastically. For instance if I use Nvidia Control Panel to set a max fps, then 2024 slows down and stutters badly (no matter how high I set the limit). I"m guessing that Riva Tuner would do the same. This did not happen on my computer with 2020. It seems like it would not happen in 2024 either, but it does on my system.

What I have to do is turn off dynamic in MSFS settings, and not limit frame rates before I boot up MSFS. Then from then on it all works much better. I prefer the built in native FG of my 4000 series card, but Lossless Scaling also works decent. LS will give higher fps than native FG.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

What I see if for instance I set a max frame rate in NVP are quick pauses that make the sound click or pop. If I don't set a limit with NVP, then no more clicks or pops ever.

It's not for VR, in fact It doesn't work in VR...   It does make me question how much you "really" know about it though.

If you don't use it why are you even in in a thread about the products being discussed?  To tell everyone who is using them otherwise?

You are talking about the wrong app.  That is NOT Lossless Scaling.  You genuinely have no clue what you are calling a magic potion and dismissing.

I didn't get great results using any form of FG with my AMD GPU without affecting the sharpness of cockpit displays, so a no go for me.

I setup a 'worst case' scenario in 2020 at Ultra preset 1440p: a powered up FSL A321 at a gate in FlyTampa's KBOS with BATC traffic (set to defaults) - there is loads of traffic and the main thread is jammed red.

I was getting ~30 fps with that scenario, but with AutoFPS I got ~35 which is a small improvement, but very noticeable when panning about. As AutoFPS is only changing in-game settings, there is no blurring or artifacts so a thumbs up from me.

I'm going to try Lossless Scaling next, but even slightly blurred displays or artifacts will put me off.
