Keep getting "please insert the disk" on startup. MSFS2020

This has happened to me twice today. I can get around it by restarting my PC (and starting MSFS again) but just wondering why it has started to do this today?

Also I now can't get 'windows' mode to 'stick' anymore. I select it then 'apply' but the next time I start MSFS it has returned to full screen.

Is this part of the last update to MSFS?

John

Which graphics driver / version?

I see the same problem.

I recently got a small MSFS2020 (1.38.2) update and I am using Nvidia 566.36.

Probably all you have to do next time is make sure you are logged on to your Xbox account before starting FS. It sometimes fails to sign you in.

As above, cured the issue for me year's ago,  as it did happen quite often in the early days for me.

Whenever I see this, I restart my computer and then launch MSFS from the XBox app. Seems to work every time.

Thanks everyone.

My Nvidia installed driver version is  32.0.15.6636 (according to device manager) which I thought was the latest (W10).

My video 'card' is a Gigabyte NVidia RTX2060 OC 6Gb

I really don't want to have to restart my PC whenever it occurs and until recently I never got the problem. Obviously something has changed for the worst (not the best).

Anyway I will, reluctantly, do what you guys have suggested.

John

You're signed into your xbox account before launching?

I’ve had that a few times after driver updates or changing overclock settings. I’ve not had to restart the computer, but starting the sim from the Xbox app seems to work every time, and subsequent starts from a shortcut work without issue.

I never signed into the X-box before MSFS and have never had these problems until recently. It worked. I signed into XBox then started MSFS then changed the screen to windowed, exited MSFS, exited XBox and restarted MSFS and the screen mode 'stuck'. Quite absurd though needing to do that and is it documented anywhere?
