Optimize MSFS2024 With NVIDIA App

Featured Replies

Hi all. I have a question regarding the Optimize feature in the Graphics section of the NVIDIA app.

1. When you click Optimize, is it supposed to change the actual values of those parameters that changed? I don't see any change in the actual flight simulator settings.

2. Should MSFS be up or down when you do it?

3. Anyone know if the suggested settings represent a good starting place?

Case: (Lian Li PC-011 Dynamic XL), PSU: (MEG Ai300p pcie 5 & ATX 3.0), Motherboard: (ASUS TUF Gaming x670E-PLUS WIFI 6E), CPU: (AMD Ryzen 7 7800-X3D)

Memory: (G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB Series 64GB DDR5 6000), GPU: (Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 AMP Extreme Airo). CPU Cooler: (ASUS ROG Strix LC RGB 360)

Fans: (7 Corsair LL Series 120mm RGB)

Why would you let some outside app optimize your install?

When I looked at Nvidia's suggestions to "optimize" my system it was pretty clear they were looking to highlight performance.  There were a number of settings on my machine like reducing LOD  that Nvidia suggested to "optimize" my system.

So basically it looked like they are trying to reduce settings to gain performance as their "optimization.

Yah when 2024 launched - I used Geforce app it gave me a bunch of ultra settings from the get go - now only half of that out of the box - its joke - you end up just doing it yourself and ignore it

Geforce app and Sim talk to each other fyi - if you make change in Sim then you open Geforce after you will see new changes matching - prob know that 🙂

Personally, I uninstalled that whole Nvidia experience thing and just install the driver.  I imagine it is useful for a casual PC gamer who maybe doesn't want to mess with things, but I found it annoying.  I had it when FS 2020 came out and it suddenly started changing my settings.
