On getting off the runway I make sure I, and everyone else knows where we’re going. Only then do I as captain stow the speedbrake lever, and that’s the trigger for starting the after landing flow. It keeps everyone’s hands in their pockets until I’m 100 % ready and I don’t need to say a word. I always like reading your real world tips, though I tried your 12 at 12 technique and the slippery 787 just laughed and ignored me. 787 captain. Thanks, try 13 at 13 lol. It worked well in the G550 because it's so slippery. You might have to fan the brakes lightly lol. 3 hours ago, jon b said: On getting off the runway I make sure I, and everyone else knows where we’re going. This is very key. I like to do the descent brief 30 minutes prior to calling for or expecting descent. We beat up the expected approach, what we will see, target turn off, expected taxi plan and expected parking. We review impactful NOTAMs and make sure we are on the same page. I will admit that the taxi diagram that automatically pops up as you slow is money! You know exactly where you are. But, still you rely on the EFB chart because it's marked up and has notes. Rick D http://g5flyer.tumblr.com/
February 27, 20251 yr Moderator @LRBS, sorry for the delay in replying. I wanted to play you some ATC at Manchester. Just a short example of Ground delivery. I'm sure no-one would have a problem if delivery was this clear. Manchester ATC.mp3 Ray (Cheshire, England). February 27, 20251 yr It’s just professionalism , controllers and pilots. Most strive for it while some don’t give a rats ***. The cheese holes line up when two or more of the latter come together at the wrong time. I don’t think it’s a national or cultural thing. Vic green

Plus, when a foreign airline is involved, they go out of their way to make it easy in lieu of safety. WHAT A CONCEPT! Compared to JFK, ORD, LAX.....
