March 4, 20251 yr So I’m flying today and I decided to adjust one of my settings on keyboard (changed from 2020 to 2024 transversal). In doing so when clicking out of the setting menu something changed and suddenly the EFB took over the screen and would not go away. I tried the close box many times to no avail. I restarted sim, EFB came back. Then when trying to use the TAB key I lost all control of the system. It starts, but when i get to the start screen the game won’t start. Once at the start screen the sim does not seem to recognize mouse clicks, tho when I hit start it turns white but no more happens. Ideas short of reinstall. My profile is now acting like I’m Xbox but I’m not. Ideas appreciated. -B Video Added Edited March 4, 20251 yr by btacon
March 5, 20251 yr Hmm.. do you have an Xbox Controller that you can plug in? Feels like your keyboard setup is messed up or something, and perhaps using the controller to get into the menus and reset stuff might work. Any game controller should work.. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
March 5, 20251 yr Moderator also, check the xbox app on your system. there may be an loption to reset the controller. RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

They had to change their code to fix an issue that arrived with a sim update. EFB took over the screen and you could not pan anymore. I got round it by zooming out and panning first so I could see the cockpit hot spot to remove it. Won't solve your issue but the initial issue sounded similar enough for me to comment. March 5, 20251 yr Author RESOLVED! Thanks To All That helped. It takes a village LoL! Resolution Action: Since I had never flown FS with an Xbox controller it took me 30 or so minutes just to wrap my head around it. At that point I felt confident to attempt to fix this. I had already discerned the issue was around my mouse settings. Somehow I did something that was making it impossible to change the mouse settings but change them I needed do as the current “2024 Transversal” was rendering sim INOP. I tried and tried over and over again to change it from that setting, all with no luck. In the end it was something I had read previously about issues with the default 2024 control settings. The warning was to NEVER modify the stock settings but to instead duplicate and rename and modify to your hearts content, just don’t modify the original as you will probably regret it! So my fix that came to me in a lightbulb moment was to DUPLICATE AND RENAME the default mouse profile and make it my new default. Voila! Sim restored to it’s previous functionality and I’m flying again thanks to all of your suggestions and a bit of luck! Also it was only after attaching the xbox controller was I able to get the settings to change and stick. Keyboard and mouse were useless as my video showed. Thanks again all, -B
