March 27, 20251 yr I'm not in the beta but it seems to me they have toned down the overexposure in the cockpit? Looks much better all of a sudden. That blown out shift I used to get when looking down has also gone, which is great. They seem to make some changes server side on a regular basis. March 27, 20251 yr yes I think they've changed something. In VR I can now use one of the tools to effectively reduce the exposure a bit while retaining the sky colour. This didn't work for me prior to su2
March 27, 20251 yr Author Lets hope it stays that way! 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
March 27, 20251 yr Really? Some people in this bug thread seem to indicate the overexposure has gotten even worse with SU2b. To me this is one of the most annoying issues currently in the sim...

March 27, 20251 yr Author I see no change in lighting at all now when looking down into the cockpit. Previously the eye adjustment was a good idea but way overdone. Now it seems to have gone completely. 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
March 27, 20251 yr in VR, there do seem to be hard edged / clearly visible shadows present at times during what appears to be an overcast environment (not realistic imo). I'm not sure if that was present prior to su2 Edited March 27, 20251 yr by dogmanbird
March 30, 20251 yr Author Yes, mine doesn't look like that anymore. If anything the cockpit is a little too dark. Eye adaptation is still there but the transition is now very slow and never too bright to start with. I haven't changed anything. You know that the backlight intensity in the menu has an automatic function, right? Why does it not work as intended? (because MSFS only distinguishes between dawn, day, dusk, and night—not dynamic lighting changes in cloudy weather, which is an issue if they increase the exposure so dramatically in these conditions) https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/higher-exposure-in-cloudy-conditions-is-good-but-a-tad-overdone/700450 https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/latest-su2-beta-exposure-slider-does-not-address-the-issue-with-the-overdone-auto-exposure/713999 Edited March 30, 20251 yr by outermarker

If you don't want to use it and prefer to have it like that, it's ok with me. Good luck.
