FlightBeam NZAA in FS24

Short update on this one, as I found that you can disable all helipads worldwide using the content.xml file. However, this does NOT fix the GSX jetway issue on NZAA, one would need to fully get rid of the nearby helipad (not only disabling it), and I have no idea how this can be achieved. Guess it would be up to flightbeam to solve it, but as it is only an issue when using GSX jetway command, I guess they simply do not care... bummer.

I’ll see if I can exclude it in the scenery editor over the weekend and share the file. Something the devs of the product should consider testing…

Yay! Inoperative jetways have been a major annoyance for me at NZAA for ages!

Wish FB would treat NZAA to an update-making use of walk-around mode with new interiors would be nicde and jetway fixes.

At the moment, we model our interiors to be realistically seen from the outside.

100% of the effort that goes into our products are aimed at maximizing the immersion for the virtual pilot, not the virtual passenger. Creating detailed interiors is a huge effort for a large size airport, and while it would give a new perspective, it would also take away from the effort put into the gate details, which is more important as a Flight Simulator.

There is also no meaningful way to walk around in the sim, such as controlling an avatar or even a 1st person view. If features like these were to come to MSFS, we will certainly create an immersive space for the player to explore as a passenger.

Of course, now with walk-around mode, it's something FlightBeam's Mir is working on adding to NZAA alongside other imprtovements and fixes, no ETA yet of course with KPHX up next.

Yep, I asked FlightBeam earlier this year.

Looks like we're good to go. Helipad is INOP though so cant start from there. Let me know if it works on your end. Extract into community folder.

Impressive, thanks. Without belittling your efforts, how long did this take it for you? Amazing (Ridiculous) that FlightBeam is unable to quickly provide a patch fixing such issues themselves...

If you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to get that done? There are plenty of airports suffering from this, and I would love to be able to fix them too 😅

Thank you!

Thank you!

You'll just need to create a new package in the dev mode and exclude the helipad / start point in the scenery editor. Plenty of tutorials on the SDK and scenery on youtube and fsdeveloper on how to use the scenery editor.
