Map Enhancement or Ortho4XP

^^^^  your "baby" is ortho eye candy. Without it you would toss the sim out as an option because you don't care about the other "babies". Got it? Keeping up?

How patronising. Got it?

Not at all. I have zero reason to believe that you didn't get it.

If ortho was no longer available, I would indeed go back to MSFS

Poetic self-contradiction right there. It's not a matter of "caring". You'd throw all the rest away because of one reason and one alone. That's the very definition of tossing the baby out with the bathwater. But hey...I'm just glad you were able to work "inadequate" into your post.

It's inadequate for your use case. Hardly "awful"

No, really. It's awful.

Funnily enough, because of this thread I spent six hours in MSFS 2024 last night.

Flew a C172 from the south Coast of the UK to Scotland.  Plenty to like with the terrain, but the flight felt 'dead'.  I didn't see a single aircraft, even though the TDS GTN 750 was full of traffic.  The sky was completely clear to the horizon. The clouds were nowhere near as good as as XP12.  No trains and the road traffic is very poor - it's only visible close to the aircraft.. The Lods meant airport scenery was popping into view on approach.  I couldn't check the wind overhead the small grass strip because the windsock wasn't visible.

Had some dinner and did the same flight in XP12. What a difference! A dynamic sky full of visible GA traffic to be avoided.  Beautifully haze (tamed a little with HazeAdjust LUA script). Lighting and clouds far, far better than MSFS.

I would like to move ortho down my list of requirements ☺️

Ultimately you should be sent on a ‘holiday’ from this forum, for trading personal insults.

Is it LR's fault that the biggest roadblock there are lawyers and litigation-happy service providers?

For asking a simple question at the very beginning? One that remains unaddressed both by you and the person the question was aimed at? Otherwise you're just as guilty. Probably need a NoXP.

May I make a recommendation in light of LODs (in 2020 least)? Let your next stop(s) be close-formation flying. VR if you've got it. Between the projected upcoming mulththreading performance bumps and whatever LR's got cooking in the VR pot (rumors swirl there), I can't wait for that to get even better than it already is.

Do it like the rest of us did and click "choose to ignore content" from him - there is a stickied post in that other forum that they made for mSparks a few years ago, the gist of it applies here, too. It is named "what to do when you can´t tolerate posts..." or something like that.

Ha - I flew over Orbx TE GB last night exactly because it's available (and so lovely since updated for XP 12).

Great experience, and even in a big lumbering airliner, the aeros feel so much better!

What traffic app do you use? I still use JF Traffic Global (with labels on, no less, because I like to see the type of traffic!).

OTOH, my home patch is a major intl airport with a lot of IRL traffic, and when I fly in MSFS I see that. Or am I mistaken...?

I don't ignore him because he's really smart, despite the fact that we have decidedly different perspectives.
