Framerate multiplier keeps resetting to x2

Featured Replies

Hi,

I can't maintain framerate multiplier x3.

Each time I begin a flight it returns to x2.

Anyone with this issue?

Thank you in advance.

Hi, GSalden,

Thank you for your help.

I haven't any automated settings in the NV app, so... I don't know what is going on.

Greetings

In the Nvidia app graphics settings for MSFS 2024 does it say "Game isn't optimized"? And what is your GPU?

Hi, Alvega

In the Nvidia app settings says, effectively, "Game not optimized".

My GPU is a RTX 5070.

Thank you, Alvega

Hi, again,

Even If I change the framerate multiplier in Nvidia app, MSFS 2024 keeps changing it and resets to x2.

That's weird!

Hi, again,

I think (but I'm not sure) that I have a "temporary" solution. I change the fg multiplier to x3 both in game and then with the Nvidia app (in that order). Then, I start the game and choose a new flight, and voila!, the fg keeps the value (x3), but I must be very careful no to touch the settings in game because it appears x2 not x3! If I put x3 in game, it returns automatically again to x2!

It must be a bug (MSFS or NVIDIA, I don't know...).

Greetings

Hi John

what are your 2x and 3x fps anyway?

whats your screen resolution?

what fps does the MSFS built-in fps counter show when in DEV mode in 2x and 3x?

do you feel a noticeable improvement between 2x and 3x?

p.s. how about listing your hardware specs in your Avsim user settings

p.p.s. how hot is it in Valencia in your room with your 5070 running? they are forecasting 34 celsius/93 F for next wednesday, and that's without your 5070 😄

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

Hi, turbomax,

I've got a Dell 27x21 (2560x1440) at 144 Hz (12 bpc color).

I've capped the frames to a 1/4 of the 144 (=36 fps), so the temperature of the GPU (RTX 5070) goes down to 60º-65º C), and the CPU (AMD Ryzen 79800X3D 8-Core), maintains 63º-70º C (btw, the processor is always hotter than the graphic card).

Then, my settings for frame generation are to x2 or x3 because this way I can have stable fps (72 FPS with x2, and 108 FPS with x3).

With these settings, MSFS 2024 goes smooth as a silk (no stutters) and the temperature doesn't go up (sometimes I have a pic, but it goes down quickly)!

I have set the air-conditioned to 24ºC and a fan in my room. As you know, Valencia is very hot these days and very humid. So... I think I can control the issue.

The problem it that when I select frame generation x3, MSFS 2024 reverts to x2!

I found a "solution" that is select x3 in NVD app (first) and in game (second) and don't look at it! 🤪

Regards

PS. I'm going to turn off the PC. I'll see tomorrow if there are no changes.

Hey John, any update on this one? I got the same issue... i am CPU Limited and it keeps resetting me to 2x (Although i am running a RTX5090 with a AMD Ryzen 7 98003D 8-Core). Got my settings quite low.. still it tells me CPU limited (TLOD 175, OLOD 200)

If you can´t read it, you can´t fly it. Real world B777F pilot

Same here but it only takes 2 seconds to change so I did not let it bother me.

I never found a solution on my end.

MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.

I've had the same issue, but I didn't like X3 very much anyway and now always run at 2X with DLAA.  I was finding too much distortion and a tearing like effect at 3X.  FYI, this is something MS have stated as fixed in the new SU5 beta.
