I remind you again that when I bought the iFly 737 (paid almost $100), I trusted an unknown Chinese company, which appeared out of nowhere in the FS9 simulator market, whose existence no one knew about, much less its reliability.

Hi,

I also own the Ifly 737, mater of fact, I was one of their big supporters on their online forum way back when! BUT, they didn't get my trust or cash until they established themselves within the flight sim community and built up a reputation. Again, you want to jump right in with a new company to the flight sim world as you said you did with Ifly, that's your prerogative.

Trust also goes both ways! I used to own and use Ariane, now you couldn't pay me to use one of those aircraft!

You will receive a control panel after your subscription, enabling you to log in and download your data every cycle. The software will update your X-PLANE automatically

Yes, but the control panel is a Windows application and as I've said, I'm a Linux user. If your control panel is not coded using any exotic libraries, this isn't much of a problem as it will run using Windows compaitbility layers (Navigraph's Manager, for example works fine). However, in case it does not run, I'm essentially stuck with a subscription, but no way to download the data. Also keep in mind that a lot of X-Plane users are using MacOS, which does not have any way of running Windows software outside of virtual machines.

What I want to say with that is that you might want to consider alternate download methods for your data (like from your storefront or Mac or Linux native clients), in case your control panel does not work for some customers.

Regarding your question on email marketing platforms: in our previous campaigns, we used tools such as Mailchimp and Sender.net to reach out to simulator users and developers, particularly during our collaboration with the Flight Simulation Association. We're happy to provide any insights or performance metrics from those campaigns if that would help.

Is this planned for future campaigns and can I completely opt out of this?

As for your comments on the pricing — we understand your hesitation. Our goal isn't to undercut competitors, but rather to make high-quality navdata more accessible, especially to smaller developers, flight sim communities, and educational users. We’ve built our data pipeline in-house with efficiency in mind, which allows us to offer a more competitive price without compromising on ARINC standards, coverage, or update frequency.

Considering that the nav data market for X-Plane is really, really small, having a "straight to the point" alternative to Navigraph is much appreciated, especially since Aerosoft stopped selling theirs.

Dear Bjoerm,

You’ve brought up a very valid point. Our current Control Panel is indeed designed specifically for Windows. However, we fully recognize the needs of macOS and Linux users—especially within the X-Plane community.

We’re actively working on making the Control Panel available for other platforms, and versions for macOS and Linux are planned for release in the near future. In the meantime, if you’re unable to use the Windows version, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’ll do our best to provide alternative access to your data.

Additionally, expanding our navdata support to cover Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) and Prepar3D is already part of our development roadmap. Our goal is to make SIMDATA a comprehensive solution for the entire sim community.

Currently, our campaign is active, and as a subscriber or community member, you're eligible to benefit from the special offers we’re providing through it.

Thank you again for your feedback and support as we continue improving SIMDATA for all users.
