Adding flyable aircraft to P3Dv6

Featured Replies

I am trying to add an aircraft to my P3D sim but I cannot get it to show up when I load the flight sim. Is there a way to do this and then get it to show up when clicking the vehicle tab? It is the MD11 Mega Pack for P3D.

Hi

Does your aircraft has a correct panel?

Usually this happens if something in the aircraft.cfg is not found in the aircrafts directory. Missing effects or sounds are not the problem, but missing .air, .mdl files make a plane to not appear. You can test with ModelconverterX if you pull the aircraft.cfg on it, it should load the plane, if the model exists. Another good tool is AI Aircraft Editor https://www.owlsnest.eu/tools.php

It says it's for AI aircraft but it also checks user aircraft and shows all errors and give detailed error descriptions.

I don't know if aircraft in P3D6 have more subdirectories or sections in the aircraft.cfg for advanced features not available before. It should certainly work on aircraft before P3D6.

I am using v6.1 and I confirm that all my aircraft are showing.

So far, I have not seen any for V6 only !

I got mine to work. I was hoping that I could add the great MD11 panel from Alain Capt but that apparently is not going to happen.

Hi,

I understand you wanting the Mega Pack.

Was this the download from Fly Away Sims?

If so this is for the PMDG MD11 which would need their baseload aircraft from them and only works in FSX not P3D V1-6.

I think it is no longer available, you would need SkySimulations or TFDI  MD11, but they have their own liveries and will not accept the PMDG paints.TFDI one is just okay I did buy and have retired it , see posts regarding this on the site!

Cheers

Yes it is the Mega Pack. I can at least fly the MD11 from there. I also have the Sky Simulation MD11.

Oops, I take that back. My Sky Simulation MD11 is for FSX. I'm flying P3D v6 now.

What do I need to look for with ModelconverterX?

You look for model to appear in the 3D view of MCX. Then references in the .cfg are right. If you see no aircraft, something is wrong.
