August 7, 2025Aug 7 I am having no luck with logins on the A2A forum. Registration again, login not recognized etc. I finally reregistered after trying and trying, and got an email to send in a parental permission slip. I am 81 years old and very frustrated by their process. I get into the store fine but the forums seem to be read only for me. Can anyone help? My root issue is the Aerostar has disappeared after an uninstall/reinstall of MSFS 2024 Beta. When I try to reinstall, the Aerostar installer fails telling me that 9.8 is already installed although it is not. Any attempt to uninstall the Aerostar fails also. I could wait and hope the next release will work. And yes, I can download from the store.
August 7, 2025Aug 7 Hello, I have reached out to Lewis at A2A via DM and asked him to establish contact with you here at AVSIM. He's a standup guy and I'm confident he will get you on the path to success as soon as possible. I think he's in the UK with local time of about midnight, so it may be a little while. Please let me know when you make contact.

I suspect that you previously moved your community folder from its default location, and the re-install is now pointing to the default location. I had the same experience. I used the config file to point to the custom location of my community folder, and all was well with my Comanche and Aerostar again. Good luck. Robin
August 8, 2025Aug 8 As Les said they're decent people, and you're not the only one frustrated by the ridiculous 14 character with £&7"%# extra characters that so many forums need these days to get in. You need TWO logins there too like a growing number of other forums these days. I've been an owner of their products for ten years and I've also given up with the forums. Every device I use other than pc locks me out. Oh they have that horrid WordPress security lockout feature too. Love their planes, respect their staff, loathe the insane security to talk about my hobby. Russell Gough SE London
August 8, 2025Aug 8 Author I only care about security on financial sites but many sites require a heavy security blanket over their forums. I do use 1password but each manager has something making just navigating the web a pain at times. We old people remember before everyone seemed to be out to steal from you. Thanks Les, we will get A2A sorted and just maybe figure out why the Aerostar parking brake is so weak. I have only been simming since Sublogic days and my keyboard controls. Turns out somehow the entire community folder disappeared from my PC. I had a backup that was few weeks old, sadly not containing the Aerostar. When that happens you just deal with recreating the contents. Probably a good thing as some things just get stale and the refresh helps performance.

Seems you had a default installation, and when you uninstalled the Beta, all MSFS-related folders from your App Data folder were deleted. If you plan to participate in future MSFS Betas, please ensure you do not install to the default location. I also suggest that you move your Community folder to a custom location, preferably to a different physical drive. Robin
August 10, 2025Aug 10 If this helps go and uninstall the Aerostar from Settings\Apps. The installer you are using thinks the plane is still installed even if it's not there any more. Windows thinks it's still installed as well. This happened to me. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

August 10, 2025Aug 10 Author Two comments. I did not have it in the default location but put it on a large M2 drive, in my pc. E drive. Something odd happened with my uninstall/reinstall that caused the problem. Backup was on my G: drive. Ron, I tried that first but it just gave me an error because it could not find the install path. I eventually deleted the entry from my registry. That solved it. Only the Aerostar was a problem as my backup Community covered everything else. MSFS and 24 have taught me to always have a backup.
