Stuck on 97%

Featured Replies

finally decided to give 2024 a go - downloaded OK - I think - but start up is stuck at 97%

which seems to have been a problem in the early days - when restart was suggested as the answer -

uninstall and reinstall was no answer then - so haven't tried that

Have done that 4 times - closed down and restarted - no luck still stuck

Any more suggestions to help a 90YO ?🙏

Have you got anything in your community folder or have any FS2020 content enabled in your library?

FS2020 doesn't care whether the file sizes in layout.json are accurate but the loading code in FS2024 hangs at 97% if they are not.

It looks as if 2024 will not be my sim since despite many hours trying to get it to open beyond 97% is beyond me on my PC

All pointers were to the community files - of which I have none and since sim wont load - no probs with marketplace either - nor any downloads from this source.

I once had it on my X box - but uninstalled ages ago - could it be that PC is trying to sync with x box

Have you tried to repair the install just to make sure it's not broken someway?

This is really bad to know ...

I came across a similar situations some 3 weeks ago. Back then it took a couple of days and a worth of different trial & error experiments which apparently didn't produce any effects.

The only trick I didn't try was signing off from xBox and FS 2024, and then signing back in. In the past ( MSFS times... ) this was yet another way of fixing it.

But I di sync the time service, empty the Community folder, reinstalled twice, and still that frozen at 97 %

One morning, eventually, it out of nothing loaded again fast, and since then I have now for SU3 final and no quirks so far...(knock on wood)...

If all the suggestions here don't work, file a support ticket at the official MSFS ticket Zendesk support: support: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

They will help get you sorted out. The support people for MSFS encounter this daily, so I'm sure they'll figure out why you can't install it.

During the first couple weeks after release there was a problem with the network time sync, I personally had this fix my startup hang, it's been a long time ago right now and I thought the sim was fixed to not need this, but its simple to try it, for details:

google "msfs 2024 network time" and do what it suggests.
