August 28, 2025Aug 28 I've been a long time user of AS and also switched over to 2024 exclusively of late. I've noticed that the AS weather depicted is not what is currently live in the real world. For example, right now it is raining in Buffalo. Though neither AS or default is producing rain in the sim (that is another issue of mine, whenever it is raining IRL, rain never shows for me in the sim), default has overcast skies and what would appear closer to the real world metar, AS has mostly sunny skies, few clouds and a rainbow. In my experience, AS always gave a more realistic view of real weather, but not when I am in 2024. Could i have a setting that is messing something up? Anything I should look for to make sure i am either selecting or deselecting in the sim or in AS? Thanks! August 28, 2025Aug 28 Until ActiveSky has the ability to produce clouds like it could back in P3D days, I have no interest in it for 2024. 2024 has done a pretty solid job giving me realistic(ish) weather. For now, I've been sticking with the sim live weather. AS is unfortunately not what it use to be, but that's also not their fault. Maybe one day Asobo/Microsoft will open things up so they can do more with it. August 28, 2025Aug 28 Open AS, press “conditions” and type in KBUF. I just checked and that is suggesting you should be seeing overcast and rain. My quickest way to check it’s injecting correctly is normally the pressure. Make sure on “WX Control” page it is set to live.
August 29, 2025Aug 29 Also try with both "Passive Mode" and "Preset Mode". "If you're aiming for full realism and control, Preset mode is your go-to. But if you prefer MSFS’s native weather visuals with added realism effects, Passive mode is a solid choice."
