I'm not the FPS hunter that you are

Never been "an FPS hunter" until I recognized, about a week ago or two, the very high frame rate when using FG nearly obliterates the visual artifacts associated w/ NV DLSS FG.  I am the author of the thread, "Ultimate Smoothness w/ Modest Frame Rates", which then was around 35.  My last year target was 50FPS-native, but no longer able to do that in 2024, hence the return to using FG only to discover there are effective means of negating its downside.

The last times I visited KPSP the melted buildings and trees were there despite being there for 20 minutes during pre-flight.  So we're not flying over KPSP with streaming scenery, we're there.

  • I don't understand the point of your response. Such a pointless response.

  • From the very first moment  the devs said they were going for the mostly streaming model of content delivery i saw the potential issues.  My fears intensified during the initial pre release publi

  • It seems like a reasonable way to stimulate a discussion about the options this sim offers us, no? ...and this is a discussion forum.

Dang MSFS 2024 looks good ... you don't really need to "find" a great shot, they're all good.

As compared to what exactly?

Real life?  Is there anything else it can be compared to?

As soon as SU3 went live, I spent hours downloading lots of the content.

Over the course of a few days, I noticed I could see no benefits whatsoever (performance was identical).  So I decided there was no point in using up disk space for no good reason and deleted all the installs!   Again... no difference to anything!

The thing is, the sim will always need to stream the core scenery (even if you download city updates, landmarks, Orbx GB, etc).

The content downloading is something I thought I really wanted, but in the event, offered nothing.
