Can I use AviaPlanner (monthly subscription U$3.50 - AviaPlanner - Airport charts & Virtual Flight Planner) instead of Navigraph in GA planes and PMDG?

Aviaplanner doesn't have navdata updates. FS2024 has charts (and up-to-date navdata that can be used by some planes), so Aviaplanner is probably redundant if you are using that sim.

Their web page says they do provide updated navdata.

To whom? No developer uses their navdata source. Last I heard aviaplanner has not renewed their LIDO contract and has yet to deliver any of the proposed features when they first came out.

I was really excited to see their introduction into the market but they haven't done much with it unfortunately

Last year I purchased the yearly subscription under the premise/promise that they would develop navdata updates for FS aircraft.
So far (after 15 months) nothing has happened.
Needless to say I didn't continue my subscription.

I really doubt if they ever continue development.

However, you should check that your addons (I think you mentioned the TDS GTNxi and PMDG in your other thread) are supported.

The subscription page cleary indicates:

"Sections marked with an asterisk are under development and will be available in the next 1-2 months."

This did not occur to my knowledge.

Interesting, thanks for clarifying. I was only looking at the description of features, not the pricing (I am happy with Navigraph). There is no indication there that this is not implemented yet. I find that a bit misleading, but at least they state it somewhere further down.

That's exactly what it said 15 months ago, when I subscribed....
My guess is they abandoned the project a long while ago

IIRC, before the service was shut down, Aerosoft NavData Pro worked perfectly fine with PMDG and other aircraft that rely on external NavData. The database structure was standard, so compatibility wasn’t an issue.

I really hope PMDG and others eventually add an option to use the default NavData instead of forcing Navigraph. The default NavData is rock‑solid—aside from airport‑specific information (runways, SID/STAR procedures), which is always overridden anyway by airport autogen or third‑party airport addons.

The default navdata is accessed through an API, it's not a flat DB structure like you get with navigraph so would require a lot of engineering work on developers side to accommodate.
