MSFS2020 not starting, CTD at loading, no Nvidia app

Thanks for the tip! However, isn't HAGS required for DX12 DLSS frame generation? I know there's Lossless Scaling, but I find better results applying 2x in sim and then 2x with LS.

Yes, unfortunately. But it makes FS2020 work in DX11 again, dont ask me how. I guess thats a problem between nvidia and microsoft and not really solvable on our level.

@Luis Hernandez I'm sorry if I missed it, have you tried empty Community folder?

I'm back home, and did all of the three things (empty Community folder, HAGS off and integrity verified). Unfortunately, none of them worked at all. I even checked the SSD for errors (using Windows error checking tool), but none were found. The SSD I have MSFS in is only dedicated to flightsims. O/S is in another drive.

Any other ideas?

Is the time correct on your PC?  No Savings time adjustments?

Sorry, I know it's getting desperate but I do know it will cause a crash

No problem, Paul. We have no DST adjustment down here, but I checked anyway, and the time was correct.

Furthermore, removing UserCfg.opt (so that MSFS generates a new one, using DX11) also solves nothing.

Strange: removing UserCfg.opt was one of the first things I did and it didn't work. Now, after doing a clean driver reinstall, emptying Community folder, disabling HAGS and verifying integrity, IT WORKS! Thanks for insisting with this tip, Carlos!

I even tried using my old Community folder and going back to DX12 and it's still working. I have yet to set up everything again, but at least I can finally load the sim. Hope I can apply back all my settings while still being able to fly.

Just leave it in DirectX 12. Other changes have no effect.

I just installed the most recent nvidia drivers 581.42 released 3 days ago, and now DX11 doesnt work anymore even with TAA and HAGS off.
I guess thats the finger from nvidia regarding this issue. 😅

So, I need to install more system RAM now or ramp down settings compared to what worked well in DX11 to be able to fly smoothly. fml....

I dont use it (anymore) since a few months already. In general all this flashy shiny gaming marketing stuff stays off my system. For settings there is profile inspector and thats it. ☺️

In general I wouldnt mind using DX12 but its more demanding and I have to reduce certain settings to be able to maintain good FPS. I have a 4060ti with 16GB VRAM and 32 GB system RAM and it gets completely eaten in DX12 in demanding scenery areas. I dont even know why RAM usage for displaying the same image is so much higher in DX12, but I suppose its because of worse optimization.

Has anyone tried the latest nvidia driver?

And have no issues with using dx11?

581.42 breaks DX11 entirely for me. Ill try the next one once its released.

my main problem is that under DX12 i get a lot more CPU load and therefore stuttering, the 5600x is simply not cut out for DX12, but runs DX11 quite fine.
