My longest ever flight. Tokyo to London via Alaska!

LOL I often read guys saying they climb to cruise, go to bed over night then get up and land the next morning. Knowing myself I wouldn’t sleep all night for wanting to get up and check on my plane. And if I did let’s say at one or two am, that would be it. No more snooze for me insomniac that I am. Or going about their day, and coming back to it twelve hours later to descend and land. That to me seems no more realistic than time compress. I guess that’s why I don’t do much long haul flight. I love the planes though. Just don’t use them to their full potential which is a shame. So it’s primarily 737 and A320s for me.

Ian, that’s why I’m not interested in VA. Fine for some though.

I only use it because it gives me a bit of purpose to fly. I still fly where and when I want to and how. They have challenges and tours to complete if I wanted to go that route.

Curious what you used for fuel planning Ray, and how did it work out?

PFPX. It’s very good regarding fuel planning and if the burn rate needs tweaking there’s a feature to do that. No problems whatsoever.

Have you ever done a round the world trip? I did a few years ago all in real time in a 737. Crossing the Pacific was a bit challenging. Might do one this winter possibly in Concorde. No leg longer than 4 hours.

Yes, I have. Also in a 737. Possibly in FSX, maybe in my first attempt with P3D. I do remember going across the South Pacific via Easter Island. Not much else.

Concorde will be far quicker with all that ocean to cross with no restrictions!
