November 27, 2025Nov 27 Is anyone bringing out a DC-8 for MSFS 2024?? This plane was an iconic work horse. November 28, 2025Nov 28 I agree, but no. No sign of one. We don't even have a decent 707. I remember buying the whole series pack from Just Flight for FSX/P3D. They covered the whole lot from DC-8-10 to DC-8-70 series if I recall correctly. I miss those days. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's. Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.
November 28, 2025Nov 28 I'm in the middle of reinstalling my old P3D systems just so that I can re-visit all my oldies like this - Lots of gems that I'll probably never see in MSFS. That JF set is a good example. I can live with the relatively low quality of the environment just to see these beauties again. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

A few weather / environment addons, Steve's DX-10 fixer, and it looked pretty good, with the night lighting probably better than what we have now. Then there was of course Historic Jetliners Group (HJG) with just about every airliner and livery you would need, and all superb freeware! Sigh! Still going by the look of it. Amazing! https://simviation.com/hjg/downloads.htm Nostalgia overload for me. Edited November 28, 2025Nov 28 by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I have just spent half an hour just looking at the pictures! Even the stuff like the Mercure has so many liveries on there. Makes me wonder if any of this stuff would port to MSFS. I would love the Trident in there. I might give it a go one day just for the fun of it. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I have tried to convert some 50 to 60 FSX planes to MS2020. It worked with some, if you are willing to have a cockpit where nothing is clickable. I also tried the VC 10, the Trident and above all my favourite HS748. None of them worked in MS2020 unfortunately. Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

When MSFS 2020 came out I asked HJG several times, if they were going to convert any of their vast catalogue to MSFS, but back then they were not inclined to. A look through their forums might give some clue as to their current thinking. I know way back the chap who oversaw the site would rather shuffle off the mortal coil than use MSFS😀 & to be fair, they relied on volunteers to produce their aircraft & liveries & MSFS was a vast unknown as regards what was needed to convert aircraft/liveries. But, yes, it is a treasure trove of vintage aircraft. T45 Edited December 21, 2025Dec 21 by Treetops45 correction
