In menus (permanently) Go to Options → Assistance Options → Navigation Aids. Set “Taxi Ribbon” (or equivalent taxi guidance option) to Off and confirm the changes. This should stop the ground taxi arrows from appearing in Free Flight and most activities, although some missions may still force them on. In-flight toggle (Career Mode / any mode) Open Controls Options and search for “Toggle Visual Assistances Display”. Bind this to a convenient key or controller button (it is usually unassigned by default; some gamepads use L3/left stick click). During a flight, press this key/button once to hide taxi ribbons and the blue navigation boxes, press again to show them if needed. Right now, the sim links taxi ribbons and the blue flight-path boxes, so turning off taxi guidance will also remove those boxes, and they cannot be controlled separately. I had the same and picked the V key to be my quick turn off switch when it happens. Still not sure why it happens.
