December 3, 2025Dec 3 Hello all, I am currently running SODE 1.8 on P3D 5.4. I have seen Virtuali and Ray mention some SODE problems with 1.8 - and would like to try 1.7.1 to see if it makes a difference with some choppy jetway loading that happens at FSDT airports from time to time. Don't recall always having this issue, and at some stage unbeknown to me, 1.8 has been installed (probably ORBX a while back - I seem to remember it kept trying to change it). Would any one have a copy of 1.7.1 they can share with me, as the 12bpilot site seems to be down/looking for some sort of login that it never did. @Ray ProudfootWhat problems have you experienced with 1.8? Thanks for any help you can offer! Kind regards, Rudy

Kind regards, Rudy Rudy, I’m on 1.7.1 and usually it’s available on the SODE site but it’s down at present. I can’t remember the specific problems as it was some time ago. If the site isn’t back up in the next day or so send me a PM with your email and I’ll send it. Ray (Cheshire, England). December 3, 2025Dec 3 Maybe helpful: Vendors on Simmarket sometimes ship SODE installers with their products, however these are not included with the installer, they are installed when you install their products. So maybe you still have a 1.7.1 installer in your Simmarket folder (Open P3D/Simmarket and search SODE, I found a 1.7.1 installer in the DD EGGP folder besides multiple older versions in other folders) Unless you delete does files out of habit... Kind Regards, Peter
December 5, 2025Dec 5 Author Thank-you both. Peter's suggestion of looking in the sceneries worked well - actually have four 1.7.1 installers lurking there, despite the Windows search (which is supposed to have indexed those folders) not mentioning that. Thank-you 🙂
December 24, 2025Dec 24 Hey there all, sorry for reposting in a solved thread but the SODE site seems to be permanently down, and we have no way of downloading the older versions of SODE now. Would it be possible if anyone could send over the 1.7.1 installer? As it's the only version that works in FSX, and I recently did a deep clean of my PC and deleted files I wasn't using and lost it for a reinstall unfortunately. GSX only installs 1.8, which doesn't work.
December 24, 2025Dec 24 Moderator @Bob Scott, I believe you’re able to contact the SODE author. If his site is now permanently down perhaps he would allow AvSim to host the SODE installers. December 31, 2025Dec 31 Good that you found it Dexter, yep 1.7.1 is the only one that seems to work reliably for me on 5.3 .. is usually after some 3rd party scenery installer has stomped over it w v1.8 Edited December 31, 2025Dec 31 by deeknow Dean Stringer

Yet another key piece of flight sim infrastructure gone. GitHub is a thing. Even if you don't want to open source right away everything is there for you to open things up when you walk away. Selfish. December 31, 2025Dec 31 Moderator I have asked @Bob Scottif he can contact the SODE author to get permission to upload it to AvSim Library. Bob? Ray (Cheshire, England). January 7Jan 7 Any update on this? I've just moved my sim over to new hardware so I'm in need of a SODE reinstall

January 7Jan 7 I've attempted contact with the author. Wasn't SODE included in a bunch of scenery packages? February 14Feb 14 Moderator Update. I've found v1.71 and have placed it in my Dropbox account. A member has asked for it. Once he's confirmed he's downloaded it I'll make the link public. But long term it would be best if AvSim could host it. The developer has not made his website available which is a real shame. Ray (Cheshire, England).
