Engine failure after starting up of any plane

Featured Replies

Since this morning I am not able anymore to start a flight with the Vison Jet. I start things up but after a few seconds the engines shuts down and I see the message I have a system failure (not the PC but the plane). There is no way to turn the plane on again after that.

Just now I gave another plane a try (after a complete system reboot!) and there the engines also shut down after a few seconds...

I never ever had this before... Did something change somehow after the last MSFS2024 update? I did receive a PC update this morning too: could that have something to do with it?

Anyone else had this problem? I simply can't fly anymore!!!

I have the same problem. Using the PMDG 777-200ER. After pushback and start-up and as I begin taxiing, both engines die. If I setup with engines running on the runway, then all works fine but not from cold and dark. I have failures turned off in the 777 and no double bindings (checked and re-checked). Any help would be appreciated - this is since SU4.

Fuel system failure?  Something shutting down the fuel pumps?

Are you in icing conditions? Try changing the weather?

Okay, so I started from another airport and now it works again... It seems there is something with the weather, I presume...? It was very bad weather but still... Very odd. But I am happy it's working again. I will give the 'faulty' airport another try later on (when the weather is different).

If you are in icing conditions, this is normal. You need to use the procedure to start engines under these conditions. That differs from plane to plane.

It seems to be the weather. Looks like after starting the engines in the B777, one needs to put the engine anti-ice ON and not just on AUTO until all stable and warmed up. Worked for me at LOWW where temp was -3C

Are there any specific procedures for starting engines in the B777 in icing conditions?  Just tried again at Loww and both engines failed again while taxiing. I had engine anti-ice ON and started the engines together.

I'm not a real world pilot, but found these - https://www.scribd.com/document/743697597/b777coldweatheroperation

Try that and see? Seems straightforward.

Sounds like MS figured out a way to properly mimic real airplane engine starts! :)
