How do you progress up the teirs? Is it like APLV2 where you get scored for each flight and that goes towards an XP or similar? Or is it all based purely on time/flights?

Right now it's by number of flights, hours & experience. Real pilots don't have XP 🙂

  • Put me down as a very interested buyer..... I'd love to move away from APLV2 as its shows no sign of being developed further and the interface is dated.

Ok, the fact that this is being actively developer and you're looking for consumer feedback is enough for me - I'll sign up and give it a go!

Thank you, I appreciate it! Keep in mind that I am a solo developer 🙂 BUT I am very active in my Discord and I am very quick to respond and I love feedback.

Are there factors which invalidate a flight in career mode? E.g. sim rate, pausing, landing at -1000 FPM etc.?

Personally mostly interested in how sim rate would affect the scoring / progression.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Your landing rate is definitely taken into account when you apply for a job or are trying to get a promotion.

For sim rate, if you do a 6hr flight in 3hrs, you will be paid on 3hrs. Also, if you pause the sim, the flight timer will pause. Hope this helps!

My work schedule at the minute is better suited to long haul flying but when I can jump back to short haul/regionals I will give your career mode a go

I don't think its iFlySimX wanting your phone number mate (I never had to enter mine). Discord may want it though...but thats not his fault.

Yea, Discord is asking you for your phone number...not me. Did you follow the instructions once your account was activated? Feel free to send me a DM here and I am happy to assist.

It's definitely interesting, but I won't use it as long as schedules are locked / non-changeable. At least make a regenerate button. I don't want to fly to 6 places I have no scenery for and my precious payware scenery is just there collecting dust.

You can select the number of legs... 2 to 6 and you can regenerate a schedule as often as you want until you find the right one you like so not sure where you saw things were "locked/non-changeable".

I read this here that way:  Schedule Lock: You must complete all scheduled flights before generating a new schedule. This simulates real airline operations where pilots complete their assigned roster before receiving new assignments.

But good to know it's not the case!

That is the case.. Once you accept a schedule you can't change it. However, before accepting a schedule, you can chose your number of legs and regenerate the schedule as many times as you like before accepting it, which then becomes locked.
