January 6Jan 6 Hello everyone! I am new into MSFS2020. Didnt play Flight Sim for many years. I was wondering: I am running a RTX5090, so all settings are on highest quality. Are blurry photogrammetry normal in MSFS2020? Or is there an issue with my settings? It looks so blurry (Split airport RWY 05) - Sadly i cant post any screenshot here. If you can´t read it, you can´t fly it. Real world B777F pilot

Generally, with a high end system, 2024 performs and looks better. Not telling you to use it if you are set on 2020, but if you're just trying stuff out and don't have a strong opinion, give 2024 a try. For 2020 - no, blurry PG is not normal. Most people report excellent graphics in 2020 these days (I haven't tested in a while). It should look really crisp and good. January 6Jan 6 If you have a RTC 5090, why would you have bought MSFS 2020 and not MSFS 2024, after years away from flight sims? 2024 is so much better, and that graphics card will bring out the best in it. I only heard bad about 2024 when they released it. So i started with 2020, since it was meach cheaper anyway. If you can´t read it, you can´t fly it. Real world B777F pilot
January 7Jan 7 With PR, blurry scenery is typically associated to your ISP and latency to the server(s). Resource Monitor should give you the IP for the server hosting PR. In a cmd window do “tracert” with IP address and that will give you the latency to the server and number of hops. If you have blurries in 2020, then you’ll probably have them in 2024 for PR. The other standard things to check are: 1. nVidia Drivers (current) 2. System RAM (64GB min is using 5090) 3. Chipset drivers (current) Other diagnostics includes running RTSS + Afterburner for overlay of performance metrics (look for low wattage usage as a clue for GPU). Share your in-game graphics setting and what is your native monitor(s) resolution(s). Etc. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. - Carl Sagan

It's well over a year since it was released. The vast majority of users of MS2024 will tell you it is a fantastic sim now, far superior to 2020 in all areas. You're buying into a sim that has been replaced. Content will start to diminish for 2020. That's the only reason I was asking. Seems such an odd move. Even this topic you are asking about - Photogrammetry is 2020 was a melted mess. It's not perfect in 2024 but it's a vast improvement. MSFS2020 PG On and Off (screenshots). Notes: I never purchased MSFS2024. I have an older PC (2019) and normally have PG Off. New PC would be about $5000 US. For my setup I am satisfied with MSFS2020. I have purchased a helicopter and several aircraft. Some of my MSFS2020 Addons have not been updated for MSFS2024. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW

That looks like bing data world graphics on and off. The first pic looks like generic mountain textures and the second mountain textures are totally different - they appear to be more photoreal. The airport backdrop imagery is also different. edit: wow it does have PG. But my comments remain the same Edited January 8Jan 8 by ryanbatc | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

It looks so blurry (Split airport RWY 05) - Sadly i cant post any screenshot here. Blurry textures could be low bandwidth, server-side issues (Microsoft's end), or even low TLOD. What is your TLOD set to? I'd set it to at least 200. Where roughly in the world are you? At certain times of the day, like especially evening time on weekends the servers have a higher load and you might see slower to load textures. It's honestly really hard to tell what's blurry without a pic. You have a 5090 and I assume a powerful CPU... so it should be fine. What CPU do you have anyway? One more thing - photogrammetry is different than bing data/imagery. PG is the 3d rendered buildings and trees etc extracted from the aerial imagery. When people refer to "melted" buildings this is what they are referring to. Also called TIN, you might even hear vexcel - which is a higher resolution TIN/PG. Bing data on just means the sim will show the 2d aerial/satellite imagery for the entire earth (where available). Here's what I see in msfs 2024. USA east server. I have 600 mbps down connection, 12700k, 64gb ram, RTX 4080, TLOD 200, OLOD 150 - im not moving though just in drone view PG ON PG OFF (bing aerials still enabled) Edited January 8Jan 8 by ryanbatc | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
