Didn't watch it but let me guess; 1) No physical evidence whatsoever? 2) Plenty of waffle from all those people who make a living out of peddling this guff? 3) Tautological gymnastics employed by the above to explain lack of physical evidence as confirmation of cover up/conspiracy by 'the authorities'? 4) Everything was scooped up and removed to a local 'secret base'? 5) Powerful testimonies from people who know people who saw everyone's idea of an alien as represented by popular culture, i.e. little green/blue/red/purple humanoids? 6) The 'authorities' have a lot more information but aren't releasing it because of fear of upsetting the Pope, Lockheed-Martin, World Peace, our way of life, pork belly futures, etc.? 7) Somewhere there's a reasonable explanation for whatever phenomenon was witnessed but....see 3) above?

No. The first hand witnesses haven't asked for a penny and its taken decades for some of them to agree to come forward. 7 hours ago, DD_Arthur said: 3) Tautological gymnastics employed by the above to explain lack of physical evidence as confirmation of cover up/conspiracy by 'the authorities'? Including a respected neurosurgeon. It's the Varginha incident. You should take a look, really, before casting judgment. I'm as skeptical of such things as you but this is fascinating and the witnesses believable. I'd be interested in your opinion. Powerful, emotional testimonies. Edited January 21Jan 21 by martin-w

Powerful, emotional testimonies. Yes, in the absolute absence of any physical evidence it always depends on the credibility of the 'witnesses'; It's an interesting reflection on our own societies that apparently professional men are more believable than the guys who collect our trash. For decades now, in the majority of the English and Nordic speaking world the court system refuses to prosecute on the basis of eye witness evidence alone due to previous miscarriages of justice.

Yep, true enough. You can't say either are telling the truth, but the argument is that a working, top neurosurgeon has more to lose, namely, a very well paid career and reputation. Obviously still not definitive though. There are several unconnected witnesses backing up the claim. Unless you watch the video, we aren't really on the same page. With the absence of definitive empirical evidence, its body language and our own subjective estimate of the individuals believability that's all we have to go on. Watch the key witnesses testimony and let us know if they seem trustworthy and believable to you. That's all we can do.

I will try and find time to wade through it but a cursory read up on Varginha (Wiki) does seem to fit all the criteria I set out above. Btw; Item 2) refers to that army of charlatans who make a living out of this nonsense rather than the witnesses. The problem with witness statements - as we've seen repeatedly - is that no matter how sincere they are, their interpretation of what they might have seen isn't necessarily a true reflection of the facts. The description of alleged alien beings never strays very far from descriptions of humanoid figures as we have a great difficulty in describing anything else, even though mammalian humanoids have evolved purely because of the local conditions existing on our planet, it's gravity and the star we orbit.

Well, you'll know from my previous comments on UAP's, that I'm often as skeptical as you. But I must say that these witnesses seem very genuine and believable and certainly don't seem to be profiting in any way. It's also taken years of convincing for them to agree to come forward with their testimony. 49 minutes ago, DD_Arthur said: The description of alleged alien beings never strays very far from descriptions of humanoid figures as we have a great difficulty in describing anything else, even though mammalian humanoids have evolved purely because of the local conditions existing on our planet, it's gravity and the star we orbit. True, although there is a principle called "convergent evolution" where nature finds the same solution for a given problem. We can only listen to the witnesses, consider the circumstances, consider if there's any indication they are profiting, consider their body language, and subjectively decide how probable it is that they are truthful. What we can say though, is that if we don't watch the video testimony we cant form a fair opinion on said testimony.
